IGNORANT BULLIES. One of the worst midwifery services I came across. They tried to bully me into coming to the centre 2 days after I had my daughter. I had to have an operation and was not able to stand on my feet, yet this ignorant and cruel midwife proceeded to pressure me to come 2 days after birth for a check up and to weigh the baby, despite me telling her numerous times on the phone i couldnt!!!! Her approach was border line bullying especially as she tried to guilt trip me by telling me women who had c sections come in after they had the surgery. Despite me telling her numerous times in bed ridden and not able to stand, she still continued badgering on the phone telling me they don't offer home visits because they are short staffed!!! On top of that, we don't have a car but this particular midwife told me to get an uber so not only was I in pain, but had to fork out for a taxi in order for them to do a tick box exercise saying they did they post natal review, which is a dismal weighing service for the baby and asking silly questions around feeding. When I refused to come in, they did send a midwife 2 days later to my house to do the blood spot test on the baby, so this whole thing about not offering home visits was rubbish. The blood sample taken became contaminated and the hospital had to ask for a second sample, showing the clear incompetence of the midwife who came to our house. My husband ended up coming into the clinic and they pricked my newborn baby a second time to get blood for the second sample.Incompetent, rude and quite frankly aside from the blood test, they don't add any value whatsoever, except to start lecturing you and forcing you to come in so they can keep their jobs. After my unfortunate encounter with this ignorant midwife on the phone, I called the post natal clinic at Queen's hospital and complained to them on the phone.I think you as a midwifery team should really revise your practice of forcing women who can't walk after birthing their babies and really rethink your bully like attitude and pressuring tactics. The midwife I had the misfortune of dealing with should be ashamed of herself and her behaviour. Not only did I have to deal with the extortionate pain while in bed and not being able to cater for my baby as I was bed bound, I had to deal with a bully midwife on the phone which increased my anxiety and caused me a lot of stress. SHAME ON YOU
