I joined Matchmakers in June, having had several scares with dating apps. I have been very pleased with the service and matches to date, it feels much safer.

I’m a self employed entrepreneur with a very hectic life that left me with little time to pursue a meaningful relationship. So, I decided to join Matchmakers. I’ve been introduced to some really nice men and I am in the early stages of a blossoming new relationship. Thank you for all you have done.

My experience with this service has been disappointing, to say the least. I entered into this with an open mind, investing a significant amount of money upfront, hopeful that I would have the opportunity to connect with someone special. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below my expectations and of that promised in their marketing.During my membership, I received nine recommendations, one for each month, as promised. However, for each match I agreed to connect with, I was met with polite declines from the potential matches. It was disheartening to see identical rejection emails from both of my assigned matchmakers, which only added to my frustration. I wonder whether these were genuine profiles I was sent or if I was simply unlucky with the matches I received.Moreover, there were disconcerting lapses in the service's commitment to safeguarding member data. I received an email in which I was unintentionally blind-copied, inadvertently disclosing sensitive information about a new member. This breach raised serious doubts about the security measures in place to protect our personal details.Another challenge I encountered revolved around getting my concerns addressed. Specifically, I had made a clear and explicit request for the one-month check-in to be carried out via a phone call, as stipulated by our agreement. Regrettably, this request was not respected, and I was informed that an email exchange would suffice. This departure from our contractual understanding not only created a contradiction but also left me with a sense of being overlooked and dismissed. Despite raising these issues and filing a formal complaint, the response I received was disappointingly generic and did little to instil confidence.Overall, my experience with this service has been underwhelming. While I understand that matchmaking can be challenging, the consistent lack of genuine matches and the concerning data protection incident has left me questioning the value of my investment. I sincerely hope that the service takes steps to address these issues and deliver on the promises it makes to its members in the future.

Caveat emptor (buyer beware)This is the first review of a company or service I've written on Google in 7 years; I'd much rather spread positivity, but after a long time reflecting, I still feel compelled to post.I joined Matchmakers in March of this year, on the basic plan, and so my membership is theoretically still active for another few weeks. Full disclosure: I haven't met anyone special, but you can't give a 1-star review based on not finding the man of your dreams - there are no guarantees when it comes to love! No, this review is about how the company have made me feel. I was hoping the experience would show me that there were better men out there than I was finding on the apps, and I wanted to feel like someone really cared about helping me find them. Neither have proved to be true. I was left shaken by an aggressive response from a gentleman, when he hung up in anger after I pointed out that he'd shown up to our video call rather late, and without an apology. While Matchmakers themselves were extremely apologetic and promised he would be given feedback, I specifically requested over email that they let it lie (knowing that this man had my personal number, and an awful lot of information about me, and feeling uncomfortable about my safety should he then harbour a grudge). This was 6 weeks ago, and I never got any reply from them, despite also calling their office and leaving a message with someone (not an answering machine). Communication in general is scarce - an email once per month with a suggested match, but nothing beyond this. I have frequently sent emails between matches to try and get a progress update, or even just to better understand when I could expect to hear from them next, and while their staff are pleasant and courteous when you do manage to get hold of them, you have no idea if and when they'll reply to you. Until they send you a match, any reply you do get will be cheerful but vague: Lots of people in the pipeline for you!" or "We'll be in touch really soon!" Aside from getting unlucky with the unpleasant gentleman (and I choose to believe that I was just unlucky there)
