The coop that my ladies now happily reside in is the Haydock 1000. As they are Brahmas and Orpingtons we chose to include the large fowl adaption for them. We believe the coop was make to order and was delivered much quicker than quoted, but do allow some time for them to make it!Granddad Rod Designs have thoughtfully developed a fantastic coop. The ventilation, ease of access, weatherproofness, durability, and lovely design mean that taking care of the hens is easier physically, and since i now know they are comfortable it’s easier on my mind too.Our coop has since been retrofitted with an automatic door opener, which helps us, but as the door is substantial we’ve had to set up a counterweight to make the automatic opener work. The coop itself is pretty big so do plan access!We absolutely love the new coop and are sure that it will give us all a lot of pleasure for some time to come. Fantastic tortoise house. Beautiful craftsmanship with thoughtful touches. Was able to change the design slightly and even made a few tweaks on our ideas to make it even better. Delivered within the timeframe given. Good communication throughout. Delivered on the day convenient to us. Would definitely recommend. In fact I’m nagging my sister to get a floating island for her pond!! Love it!!!!

Beautiful new tortoise house (bothy) has received so many compliments. Such an excellent design with the insulation and easy access hinge on the roof. I really like the draft curtain and the ramp. Just perfect for our elderly tortoise who loves to sun herself on the ramp in the morning.

Bought one of Grandad Rob tortoise houses, with side door modifications. They were happy to accommodate my request.The tortoise ‘mansion’ as we call it is beautifully built, solid and carefully thought out, including side handles to help move it about (warning, it is quite heavy - a testament to its robust build) and a bolt to lock at night.the lid lifts also on one side to allow access from above. Plus it is insulated, so should help when the frosts come.The mansion came on a pallet, fully secured.All in all, very happy with this. Given our tortoise is likely to outlive us all, he deserves a secure and safe home.

I’m absolutely thrilled with my bespoke Granddad Rob tortoise house – it’s based on the tortoise caddy hibernation box but with an entrance and ramp so that it can be used as a hutch in my tortoise’s greenhouse until hibernation beckons. It took slightly longer to arrive than expected due to the popularity of the company as well as my tweaks to the design. It was definitely worth waiting for though – the craftsmanship is fantastic, it’s very heavy and sturdy, great insulation on it and Juno also approves (which is the main thing). Customer service was excellent throughout the process.

Ordered a house for our tortoise Charlie. Ordering was simple and we were contacted by Sally to let us know when delivery was scheduled. The item arrived on the day stated and was fully assembled (much to my husband's relief). The house is really sturdy, totally wind and waterproof and has been beautifully crafted. We couldn't be more pleased with our purchase and would recommend this company to any tortoise owner.

Grandad Rob and his team are lovely to work with, and the 8 birth, painted Duckhouse we received for our client looks very beautiful in situ. We look forward to some Ducks moving in shortly.Thank you!
