Christ Church Meadow
An absolutely beautiful place in the centre of Oxford to go for a walk and some peace and quiet, a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The walk along the river is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful chance to connect with nature. You can see all kinds of wildlife, insects, ducks, wildflowers and much more. A place of beauty and calm just a short walk from Oxford's high street, I always enjoy my visits here.

Christ Church Meadow
Christ Church Meadow is a beautiful area located in Oxford, England. It is a large, picturesque expanse of greenery that stretches alongside the River Thames, offering stunning views of the city's historic skyline. One of the unique features of this meadow is the presence of grazing cows. The tradition of having cows in Christ Church Meadow dates back centuries and is still maintained today. The cows are typically Oxford-bred Longhorn cattle, known for their distinctive long and curved horns. These cattle are carefully managed and play a crucial role in maintaining the meadow's ecosystem through grazing, which helps preserve the diverse plant life. The sight of cows peacefully grazing amidst the scenic backdrop of the university buildings creates a serene and idyllic setting, making Christ Church Meadow a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks or have picnics while admiring the harmonious coexistence of nature and history within this iconic Oxford location.

Christ Church Meadow
Quiet walk with great natural views. Cows laze in the distance and occasional horses trot nearby. Bluejays and other quaint birds all around. A wonderful place to admire and absorb

This lovely, secluded area of parkland is ideal if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A pretty lengthy circuitous route takes you through wooded avenues, along waterways and past ancient university buildings; a thoroughly pleasant time.

Peaceful. It's a nice place to walk about and enjoy watching the punters on the river. In summer you can sit on the grass. In winter you can try and spot some wildlife. I have been told there are kingfishers there but I've not been able to spot one yet. Lots of friendly ducks though!

Majestic place, so beautiful and historic. Book tickets on advance because on weekends and bank holidays it’s sold out early. I recommend a nice pic nice on the nice benches that it has.

Beautifully-kept gardens and grounds, partially open to the public, for free (you can pay to go inside, too).
