Harris Tweed Oban

What an amazing shop! The most beautiful coats and bags! They also have lots of other stuff, Harris seals and teddies! The lady there was so kind and friendly. This is the real Harris Tweed experience directly from the Carloway Mill! You can go in sync with your dog for most coats as they also have the doggy version!!!!

Wonderful shop. Very unique. Never seen so much tweed! The lady was very friendly and informative and convinced us of the authentic nature of their tweed compared to the other Harris Tweed Mills which largely manufacture abroad. Very happy with our purchase.

The store is fine, though it primarily carries heavy coats.What the poor review is for is the customer interaction. Upon entry the owner (presumably?) practically berated us with a mixture of history and current manufacturing problems mixed with insulting the other tweed stores in the area. We had barely stepped food into the store before that.To be constructive:yes history is interesting when asked for. Read the room to find if its mild curiosity or in depth interest.Your tweed might be quality, but insulting other stores (from who we bought) makes you seem snobbish and insults our ability to distinguish good from bad articles.Why focus on heavyweight fabric while simultaneously begrudging your current economic circumstances? It's not illegal to make a summer weight" (ie lighter) tweed while still maintaining traditional practices. Many tourists tend towards that as they come from warmer climes and want a bit of authentic fashion."

Absolute quality is what I found when I walked in the door of the shop. Ended up buying a beautiful sweater and two traditional caps. Craftsmanship is exquisite. The staff took time to help me make a decision and rummage through all the beautiful well made clothing. Really made the drive down from Fort William worthwhile for me. What a great find and I was able to bring three beautiful memories back to the states with me. Thank you for all the help in making choices that were right for me. Love this place of business !!!

High quality clothing made well. They have an extensive selection of colors and patterns. We were able to get hats, vests, jackets and skirts for the girls. We also found good thick dress belts. We spent over two hours shopping for me my wife and three sons and daughter-in-law. We all came away super happy and highly recommend this shop for any looking for clothing that will last a lifetime.

An astonishing amount of tweed abounds in this amazing store. The produce is all British made from tweed direct from the Carloway mill, the owner is passionate about keeping his mill alive and that of other small independent British producers and not being forced to send the tweed abroad for production.His motto is without a doubt - Buy British, Buy Local. Enjoy the browse through the hundreds of jackets, waistcoats, beautiful leather bags, hats, jumpers and socks - you will not leave empty handed. The best I have found in a long time.

The best tweed you will ever come across. Not only are the owners attentive, detailed and patient, you will also find beautiful fabric designs and absolutely fabulous coats, cloaks, vests and tweed clothing of all sorts. Strongly recommend visiting with time to go through all of it. Very reasonable quality-to-price relation, and an incredible assortment of top quality craftsmanship.

Absolutely love my pink tones maxi coat. This was the only place I could find a maxi Harris Tweed coat with fabulous range of fabrics and linings. I also have a stunning turquoise short coat. The service Tim (& Lynn in the shop) provided were first class. Great shop to browse for bags, mats, keyrings etc as well as clothes!
