Animals 1st Vets

Our earlier experiences with Animals 1st was very good. Our most recent one was not so good. A small growth on her eye needed to be removed (a minor operation) at cost of over £600. Pet insurance wouldn't cover this as they believed it was a preexisting condition. Animals 1st said they wanted payment and then they would argue the case afterwards. No support from them on our behalf. Very disappointed. Will consider moving to another vet.

Animal 1st Vets is fantastic! They treated my pet with care and answered all my questions patiently. The team's compassion and expertise make it my go-to place for furry friend care. Grateful to have such a reliable vet!

Friendly and supportive/knowledgeable staff. Every visit is the same. My wee dog always receives the best care. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Have been a customer for years now.

Receptionist is leagues above any other vet clinic I have been to and has excellent customer service. The Vets are caring and understand your pet is a big part of your family. The staff in this clinic love animals and it really shows. 100% recommended this clinic as no other compares to the experiences I have had here.

I would recommend visiting Animals 1st Veterinary Clinic and here is why…We were welcomed by very friendly receptionist/nurse - she was lovely! We were seated at the reception waiting area, it was clean and cozy. Shortly after we were called in and meet Laura Hamilton, she must be the nicest person that happens to be a vet we have ever met. She was lovely and made us feel welcomed. She paid close attention to our boy Kio (he is now in love with her!), Laura explained everything to us and what would be the best way to manage Kio’s treatment long term. Honestly, I can’t recommend her highly enough. Safe to say, she will be Kio’s vet, she is a gem. Oh, did I mention Laura is a Bulldog specialist?

Animals 1st Vets (Macmerry) is aptly named. I recently took my dog along after having a poor experience at our previous vet and I actually enjoyed my visit to the vet - who knew that could happen?! The person on reception (Katy?) was an absolute dream, not just with me but with everyone that came and went. Felt more like a friend than someone at their work.The vet (Aileen?) was incredible. She spent so much time building up trust with my dog, listened to everything I had to say, gave me advice off the back of it and put a plan in place. The vet also showed me how to perform one of the treatments I was unsure about which made things so much easier. It gave me confidence that anyone could leave there knowing exactly how to best help their pet.When discussing treatments, medications etc I was giving multiple options with varying prices. I’ve never been given options in this way before but what a fab way of doing it. Giving options without making anyone feel bad about possible financial struggles, especially in the world we’re currently living in.My dog has had some pretty invasive treatments and procedures at Animals 1st and is still eager and happy to go in every time.Bruce and I are very grateful to have the team helping us.

Great vets used it for years...lovely staff members and very caring, extremely caring an show love and compassion when it comes to saying goodbye to a beloved pet.Also brilliant with the babies of the animal world. Highley recommended:)

What a fantastic company to deal with,very helpful and reassuring, all the staff were fantastic, They did BOAS surgery on little Pixie, doing her nose and soft palate, she has at no point shown any signs of pain or discomfort,When I went to collect her the girls were covered in hair where they had been fussing over her, they phone every day just to check she's ok,It's only three days after surgery but there is no little piggy grunting noise's anymore, would definitely recommend.
