Palace Brasserie

Very poor experience. Entered the brasserie today which at 2.30pm was very quiet, with only a few customers sitting at tables. Had to badger the bar man / waiter for acknowledgement and to clarify whether we could sit where we pleased. The bar man dismissively answered my question with his back to us, seemingly not particularly interested in our appearance or for the hotel to earn more revenue which might help pay his wages. He did promise to bring us a menu, which at that point was a crumb of comfort. We chose a window table with a view of the river, although it hadn't been cleared since the departures of the previous customers. Having waited for 5 minutes with no sign of menus or further interest from the staff, we decided that the Palace Hotel Brasserie was obviously doing booming trade during Covid and would therefore prefer that we spend our money at another establishment.
