Bespoke GREEN

We wanted to convert an existing barn / workshop into a cabin / office in our garden. We considered all options including prefab, mobile and all sorts of sheds and log cabins. We were initially concerned that opting for a bespoke building would be much more expensive. Of all the people that quoted Nic came across as the best person for the job. He understood that we wanted to re-use as much of the old materials as possible, that we wanted to use natural materials as much as possible and wanted something bespoke and interesting. we wanted a similar style to an Australian outback cabin with a corrugated veranda. Nic researched options and provided drawings that matched the design in our heads perfectly. He provided a detailed quotation that he stuck to despite more than a few changes made by us through the build. the total cost was very comparable with the other “cheaper” options and definitely much better value.He worked with other trades really well and took on much of the day to day project management by constantly keeping on top of them. He arrived on time every day for 4 months, showing an excellent work ethic throughout. The quality of his work is excellent, showing his skill as a carpenter and coming up with ideas like sliding barn doors to access the bathroom, saving space and providing an interesting focal point. He was extremely tidy, clearing up at the end of each day.As his company name suggests, Nic is very aware of lessening the impact on the environment, reusing the majority of the 30 year old pole barn the cabin replaced and suggesting green ideas like ground screws for the decking over concrete.If you are considering a garden room, annex, garden office etc. we would strongly recommend contacting Nic to discuss options.

I’m absolutely delighted with the work that Nic has carried out and Nic’s communication has been fantastic throughout. Nic was friendly and very helpful at suggesting ideas and discussing design and I was sent a detailed breakdown of the material costs before proceeding.The finished product, an enclosed catio/deck area for my two cats) has far exceeded my expectations, both in design and the quality of construction; I’d particularly wanted the feel of a covered deck, rather than an animal enclosure, and Nic has achieved this, making an area which is both functional and an inviting space for me to sit.
