Gelous Nail Bar

I’ve been going to Gelous Nail Bar for two years now and I highly recommend this nail salon. The best in Cardiff in my opinion! Friendly staff who work incredibly hard and provide a fantastic service each and every time! My nails always look fabulous.

Words cannot describe how amazing Gelous Nail Bar is. The service is absolutely amazing and the acrylics I have got done at this place are incredible! The owner is so kind and the prices are affordable especially for the quality of the service and the outcome. Every time I get my nails done here, I always get compliments about them! Ive recommended this place to practically everyone I know! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first time here and recommended by a friend. Not impressed as two different girls did my toes and then fingers. One made me feel like I was an inconvenience and quite rude the other barely spoke a word . The experience felt very rushed and not suprisingly the gel on my lift thumbnail has started coming off after a week

Always do a great job no matter how complicated the design. The shop has a calm atmosphere and the nails are always beautiful and long lasting. The team are very friendly and welcoming.

I've been going to Emily for my acrylics for the last 2 years and won't go anywhere else now (even though I've moved out of Cardiff)!Friendly staff, always feel welcome (without conversation being overly forced!). Emily is a diamond and excellent at what she does!Reasonable prices for such a great service, my nails always look amazing and they always LAST. I moved house and my set was still in perfect condition after a few days of packing/dismantling furniture and cleaning!

Had a lovely experience today at my first ever appointment at Gelous and so pleased with my nails! I’m very particular about my nails and like them to look quite natural so finding a good salon that listens and delivers my desired look is very important. Pleased that the nail profile looks natural and not too thick or heavy which I’ve observed can happen with nail technicians who maybe aren’t as skilled but as you can see from my photos that Gelous did a fab job! Thank you, will be back again soon :)

I went to the nail bar for the first time and was initially anxious but it was such a friendly environment, and I did not feel afraid to ask for anything. My nails came out exactly how I expected and I couldn’t be happier with them. I was especially surprised by the high quality due to the quick service, but I was ecstatic that no time was wasted and they came out perfect and incredibly reasonably priced. Will definitely be going again, thank you!

Really disappointed by my visit. First time getting my nails done professionally and the staff were very condescending when questions were asked. As for the actual nails, my natural nails were filed down in an uneven fashion resulting in very different shapes. The shellac colour also doesn't reach my cuticles making the shapes look even more uneven. Also, the price was more than those on the list given to us (and I have accounted for other additional costs you may added during the treatment without proper communication too). I have never left a review before but the customer service was appalling. I would not recommend coming here at all.

Incredibly poor customer service. The technician was unfriendly (bordering on rude at points) and gave the impression that I had little value as a customer other than for my money. A rushed, uncomfortable experience not to be repeated.

Been coming here for around 6 months but sadly won’t be going back. Today I showed a picture (the photo with orange tips) and asked for the exact same shape, the response I got was “so, square”. I tried to clarify that they look a bit rounder than square, and the response was “yeah so square”, I felt a bit intimidated by the bluntness but clarified for a third time, to which I got the exact same response again. The shape I ended up with (photo with black tips) was a lot more square than the photo I showed, and when it came to painting the tips the other technician in the shop (blonde lady) said it would be difficult since the shape in the original photo is oval and my nails are more square(!!) By this point the shape couldn’t be fixed so I had to make do with nails I didn’t ask for.It’s a real shame because the blonde lady in the shop is absolutely lovely and very friendly, I feel very relaxed and at ease with her. But the owner can be quite hostile, rude, and has a tendency to create a tense atmosphere quite frequently. I’ve witnessed this with other customers too plus her own staff, which is very uncomfortable and awkward. Because of this I’ve felt a slight sense of dread going there recently and my experience today has confirmed it’ll be the last sadly.An edit by way of response to your reply: if I show a clear photo and ask for the exact same shape, I don’t know why any more discussion is needed? You are the nail technician - it’s up to you to decide what shape you see. But instead you confused and intimidated me and gave me what I didn’t ask for. I would understand if I was describing a shape in my mind but I’m sorry - there was a clear reference point, so I’m still unclear how or why this happened. Afterwards your colleague even confirmed that the shape in the photo was oval. I spent the evening correcting them myself because I just wanted to leave the shop.For clarification my previous shape was almond, as I’ve had numerous times previously with no issues.Lastly there is a difference between being straightforward and being rude. For others to have commented on this too I think you need to reflect better on that.
