When you visit Portballintae it's worth your while to visit Runkerry Beach the Beach is close to Bushfoot Golf Club and Runkerry House, you can walk to the Giants Causeway by following a path which is well sign posted it takes about an hour and a half the only thing you can't depend on is the weather

A very nice, clean beach with great views over the sea and coastline.Free car parking is available in the Portballintrae car park adjacent to the beach.Access to the beach from the car park is via a footbridge and the sand dunes. We saw no dog fouling and very little plastic waste along the length of the beach. The sea can be a fantastic colour and looks very clean. There is lots of birdlife, including Oystercatchers, Plovers and Sand Martins.Overall, I recommend this as somewhere to visit if you live in Northern Ireland or are on holiday.

The real name of this beach is Blackrock Beach, not Runkerry. The person who bought the big house on tbe hill renamed the beach, naughty boy! This is the story I was told by a local from Bushmills

Beautiful beach at Portballintrae. There's good parking, a shop and toilet facilities close by.

A great beach for the dogs as there's never many on it and you can go up in the dunes and walk along the Bushmills railway track, it's some view from there. Only problem at minute is that the council removed the bridge over the river do it's hard to get on to the beach. I hope they replace it very soon.

Nice beach for a walk and very rockey but the sign says no swimming. Kids love the large sand dunes to run down. Public toilets at the car park.
