When we arrived at the site a letter on a window cil directed us as to where to go with our pitch no. Go through the gate and onto the site. Quite disappointed at the site it being a large grass area with pitches around the outside. A tap was at the entrance to the area and that was it. To be fair the pitches were of a reasonable size. No one to greet us at any time while we were there (4 nights). The toilets and showers were a joke tiny room cubicles two for males don’t know how many for females the male shower was that small if a bloke had got excited he would not have been able to turn around in the space of the shower. When at one point I was in the shower someone turned off the light I opened the door and there was a woman with her marigolds on leaving the male toilet block she was most apologetic and got quite a shock when I opened the door to Tuen the light on. At on point two people came to cut the grass with petrol push mowers at no time did they enter into any kind of greeting at all no idea who these people were. We close this site for the location close to Chester and the walk along side the canal to the pub was lovely. Some people on the other side of the canal in extremely posh houses talked to us which was nice. The charges where £41 a night outrageous Not going there againRead lessDate of stay: June 2023

Nice site decent space between caravans. Sadly only 1 male and 1 female shower, nowhere near enough, we are here at the moment there is at least 20 caravans and at least 10 tents, 4 people in shower que before me this morning not acceptable given the price paid. Also only 2 toilets per sex and 1 sink so if you cannot get a shower you cannot even have a private wash. Nothing to sit on whilst waiting in queue so no good for people like me who cannot stand very long. When I finally got in the shower the lights went off, to turn them back on you have to leave the shower cubicle and go to the entrance of the toilet block. So walk out in a towel or shower in the dark. It's a shame because it would be a lovely site if it had more facilities and or disability facilities.

A rustic camp site with all the nessasary facilities, superb location for Chester, was told a 50min walk along the canal into Chester, took us 75mins, unless you have a sweat band and a pair of fast slippers.Bus to Chester in a nearby village. Pubs within walking distance.

Just back from spending a lovely week at Netherwood. Yes, it's self-service check-in, but the pamphlet provided gives you all the information you need, plus you know where to find Michelle if you need her. It's such a great little site and we had a lovely big pitch (18) right next to the secure gate to the canal. The shower and toilet facilities, whilst small, were spotless throughout and I only had to wait once for the ladies' shower.Lots of return visitors we spoke to. The site only has about 18 camper/caravan pitches and then a small tent field so can't see there being any great difficulty to get access.Such a perfect spot and we took great advantage of the canal path to the nearby Cheshire Cat and Ring O Bells.

Great little campsite. Basic, with two showers and toilets, but clean and tidy. Walking distance to Chester down the canal. Beautiful site.

We have stayed a few times here, but this time instead of the caravan we used a tent. Its such a lovely site. We had a lovely weekend. The weather was amazing and we had a nice walk along the canal to the Cheshire Cat Pub/Restaurant.

Stayed at Netherwood recently for 7 night & would not book again. First impressions, lovely green, fairly levey site with trees, birds & rabbits. The site is next to the the canal, so an easy walk into Chester & a few local pubs. Park & ride is 5 mins by car, with other shops & supermarkets nearby. The reality is.... The reception window was open when we arrived, I was asked if my name was on one of the leaflets in the strand, (it was) & was told that explained every thing we needed to know & the window was closed! We didn't see this lady again or any wardens. For what we paid, (37.50 per night) the facilities are very basic, the ladies has 2 toilets & 1 shower which are very cramped. The site has no lighting, only one water tap & the only bin is at the front gate next to the road.Overall, Netherwood charge top rates while providing no welcome & bob basic facilities.

This camping site for tents and caravans was way over priced for condition. For a pup tent as were it was 30 pounds. They said Friday nite was high season, yet the grass was not mowed, the toilet block dirty with only one shower each for ladies or gents. Luckily all other tourers were aware of their overcharging and stayed elsewhere. The wooden picnic table was in disrepair. Not a repeat stop.

Nice little site just outside Chester. We walked into the city along the canal path right outside the site, takes around 50 minutes. Only one shower and a couple of toilets is a bit of a let down, but the site is small so probably doesn't need much more.

Lovely self check in site. Small but perfectly formed. Clean toilets and shower and very convenient for Chester and N Wales coast.
