Westview Sailing

Westview sailing Day Skipper Theory course is just great. My daughter and I started it more or less at the same time and we both loved it. There is a lot to learn but how it is all put together make it a joy. 5 stars for sure!

Not being particularly familiar with online learning or Zoom meetings, I was slightly concerned about launching myself into the Day Skipper course with Westview Sailing (WS). However, Duncan’s videos are so professionally delivered, and thorough, I was soon sailing through the lectures, which are all bite sized units that do not overwhelm you with information.I soon got used to the Zoom meetings, and meeting fellow students thereon can be fun and enlightening as to how they are progressing. or not, with their studies.There is no pressure to complete the course quickly, but the whole process is so engaging, it becomes quite addictive.Since completing the course, I have recommended WS to a number of my friends and family.

I completed my Costal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory online with Westview Sailing. I have to say Duncan made competing the course a pleasure. The videos are excellent and great to be able to review material while completing the assignments. Any questions you had Duncan would get back to you quickly and always had time to discuss.I can’t thank Duncan enough for all the help and support I would without question recommend Westview sailing for you online course

I completed the Westview day skipper course on line with Duncan in September 2022, it was defiantly not easy but the education this course provides is invaluable! Duncan is defiantly dedicated and wants his students to succeed, he will reply very promptly to home work submissions ( even at 10pm ). Zoom meetings held regularly to check progress and chat about problems encountered while doing course work. Absolutely top notch class work that has given great confidence to get out and explore the waters. Thank you Duncan and sorry for testing you patience at times but you were to polite to say so. I can not recommend this guy enough. Thank you.

My wife and I both took the Day skipper shorebased course with Duncan. We were both very satisfied. The course is well structured and Duncan has excellent teaching skills.In contrast to other online courses, we had the opportunity to ask our questions in regular online meetings, which I would absolutely recommend to every participant.Duncan also responded extremely quickly to all emails.Even though we are not native English speakers, it was absolutely the right decision for us to book the course with Westview Sailing.

I did Coastal Skipper theory online with Duncan in May 2023. I would recommend this course to anybody who wants a classroom like experience at home. The videos were clear and seeing things being done directly on a chart made things click into place quickly. They do move at quite a pace though so you need to be paying attention. I didn’t take advantage of any of the Zoom calls Duncan holds to answer questions as the feedback received over email was clear and did the job for me.

I would highly recommend Duncan and the day skipper course through West View Sailing. both course structure and back up provided are excellent, with feedback coming back almost before you have submitted the work! Duncan is obviously experienced and knowledgeable and keen to get his students through the course with a win.

The course is well structured, comprehensive and allows the student to complete and repeat modules at their own pace. The content is easily understandable and full of clear video and graphic instruction. Combined with an optional weekly on line meeting with Duncan and fellow students, plus access to your tutor via e-mail, this theory course will prepare you well for your practical. I have just completed the YM theory with Westview Sailing. It is a very comprehensive course, great videos (with humour - always helpful) and lots of support from Duncan Wells. I would highly recommend attending the weekly Zoom meetings just to touch base and keep focussed although Duncan responds very promptly to any emails or queries - seven days a week! Very pleased with the course and I would highly recommend Westview Sailing.
