Everything I donate I am made to feel welcome & all the staff there are polite

I am here with my daughter who is 18 and donating for the first time. She is very nervous and asked me to come with her. When she was taken for the screening she asked me to go with her. I was very rudely told I couldn’t go in the screening room. I understand this as the questions are very personal, however I Was told by the man on reception that I would be allowed to go through to the donating area with her. When she came out of the screening room she immediately signalled for me to go with her only got the same rude man to say ‘she’ll have to sit in the tea area she can’t come with you.’ I told the man that I wasn’t pushing myself on her and she wanted me to be with her but he just rudely told me to sit in the tea area.I understand that they can’t have loads of people in the donation area but they made no consideration to it being her first time and above all the rudeness towards a new donar was terrible. Needless to say, sadly this has put her off and she won’t be returning.How sad that people are being put off doing such a selfless thing by rude staff.

Great place ,and staff, I think they all deserve a medal, there was no talk of the staff not working throughout the covid scare.Thank you all for all you do.

Unqualified staff...I've been here twice now with the intention of donating blood and have been turned away both times. I have donated blood in other places including abroad and have had no problems. Whenever I've had medical procedures done the staff seem to have no problems with my veins.Both times I've attempted to donate blood here the staff have been blatantly rude. Last time the nurse made one attempt at inserting the needle in my left arm and failed, despite me telling her that my right arm had better veins. Before I left she suggested that I 'lose some weight and drink some water' before coming back. The venipuncture site bruised very badly and became inflamed over the next few days as proper arm cares were not offered by the nurse. Needless to say I will not be returning and will ensure I donate blood in places with actual qualified healthcare workers.

Fantastic fantastic fantasticEveryone is lovely. They take care of you as a person. They continuously check if you are well and give you plenty of information. It's also amazing to be told what they did with your blood and I pray in Jesus name that we all consider giving blood if we can Amen.

I’ve always felt well looked-after here, and things seem efficiently run! Great snacks afterwards as well and everyone is very friendly.

Great experience as a first time donor :) went in very apprehensive but all the staff were amazing (especially Dan & Marie). The staff make you feel super comfortable and I can't recommend doing it enough! Even if you're a bit scared of needles..

Fantastic staff who look after you very well. I fainted after a donation and they made sure I was ok before allowing me to leave.

I can see why people are not donating blood On my arrival the staff was not friendly than I have been called 35 minutes later and the first attendant did the procedure on my finger and once he asked me where I birth (Brazil) he get up and call other person to talk to meEven if I’m here for more them 14 years and I’m British Citizen the question was so racist asking about many diferente virus from Brazil and I never had any problems I’m totally health I never been treated so disrespectful the staff said to me I will think about if I can let you donate or notThan I said to her thanks but I been contact by phone answer all the he questions and after 1 hour later here you still don’t know if I can donate blood?She said yes I still not decide so I said thanks but I don’t need this I have my kids outside waiting for me I thought I came here to help people not to be interviewed because I birth In Brazil Im sorry but I go homeAnd she said ok thanks for came

I used to go to the mobile donor sessions but then found that there was a blood donation centre in Leeds itself. I now book an appointment to give a pint on Saturday morning and then go shopping after.The staff at Leeds are very professional and courteous.
