The White Hart
We stayed at the White Hart for 5 nights, my wife's mum is from the area so we where looking up ancestors etc.The White Hart team here are brilliant, friendly and go out of their way to help out. Room was cosy with a very comfy bed, the food is brilliant and they don't skimp on portions either from Breakfast to Dinner all home cooked and top notch. Great base to explore the Lakes and nicely away from the main touristy madness. We will be staying again the wife has declared.!

We’ll what can I say. Booked only for a meal for our wedding anniversary as we had just arrived earlier in Ulverston.Initially service was ok as the pub was really busy. Pleasant and lovely. However after main course we waited 40 minutes for plates to be taken away although restaurant was empty at that stage. We ordered dessert and after a further 20 minutes with no luck, I had had enough and paid and left.Absolutely abysmal service. Totally spoilt by the complete lack of care.Sorry to say but the worst place I have ever been to.

I grew up in Barrow and we used to drink at the White Hart in the early 1970s. 50 years later, after living abroad, I took my wife to visit the lakes. The pub was great, both to stay and eat. Location handy for Southern lakes and Barrow, but off the main tourist track. White Hart has changed from village pub to a place to base yourself, eat drink and be welcome.

Only stayed one night but this is a lovely old Inn with lots of character. We booked a table for or evening meal had three courses and the food was excellent, as was the breakfast next morning. We would definitely stay again if we get chance and have already recommended it to our friends, thanks to all at the white Hart

Lovely traditional country pub. Stayed one night B&B with an evening meal, everything was perfect! Good choice of evening meal, adequate comfortable room and a great variety of breakfast options. Definitely recommend!

Called in without a reservation. Service was lovely and efficient even though it was a Friday teatime. We ate the the 2 4 1 fish and chips. Exceptional value for money. Fish was the best I've eaten since my visit to Whitby. Definitely recommend.

Booked a table in the dog-friendly restaurant and ordered exclusively from the specials board. The grub was very very good and came in large portions so we went home happy. Very busy when we visited on Coronation weekend, but well worth visiting. I'd put this at the very upper end of food I've had in the area.
