I was expecting a 'homely country pub' but found a large, characterless space filled with tables and chairs. Sunday menu was lacking... no vegetarian option for the roast, just vegetable Lasagne. I am GF...my roast was just lacking what others had rather than substituted. Nowadays GF stuffing, Yorkshire Pudding etc is easy to come by so no excuse in my opinion.Two staff were friendly enough although one of them kept shouting table numbers loudly...very odd. The third, an older lady seemed irritated when asked for extra sauces... didn't raise a smile once during our meal.I remember this pub from my teens and maybe my nostalgia has affected my experience. Not again for me sadly as good GF food should be easy to come by.

Very friendly and efficiently run pub with good menu and tasty food. Pensioners menu good value. Larger meals to fill up teenagers and big appetites. Will be visiting again soon.

Am used to enjoying excellent service and excellent food at this lovely restaurant....but....the gammon steak I had last week was truly exceptional...well cooked...and extremely tasty. Expect to always make this choice on future visits!!

Unfortunately food was straight out of packets from the freezer. I expected the fish (which was meant to be cod) at least to be freshly cooked

Lovely place. Consistently tasty, well presented food. Friendly staff, very reasonable prices. If you want to eat nice food & chat with your friends & family with lovely views without hearing gambling machines or loud music this is the place for you.
