I was disappointed with this visit on Father's Day.The food of one of our party of 5 was great. The rest was really below par, which was a surprise to us as we've often had nice food here. The staff were nice but the service wasn't as good as it could be.Maybe because they were very busy, but it resulted in them forgetting to bring things over to us, and an item ordered didn't arrive. The atmosphere was affected by overly loud music, so we couldn't hear each other or make ourselves heard by staff who were very busy.It did quieten down eventually.Sad to give a disappointing review.

Visited The Orange Tree on a sunny day. Lovely Sunday atmosphere. Soulful music playing in the background - which was a delight. Really impressed with the size of the outdoor area and the lamb roast dinner was to die for! Good portion sizing and variety of accompanying veg. Whilst the dessert (warm toffee pudding) didn't hold up to the same standard - I was really impressed by the customer service and hospitality to ensure it was rectified. Overall - a lovely visit. I would recommend to my friends and family.

I live in Romford and I have tried many many different gastro pubs all over the country and restaurants for Sunday Roast dinner and the orange Tree is without a doubt my favourite Beef Roast destination every Sunday.Excellent crispy garlic golden roast potatoesTasty, beef cooked to how you like itBraised warm red cabbageBeef dripping gravyHoney glazed carrotsCrunchy ParsnipPeas, shredded cabbageAnd lastly, big Yorkshire puddingsAll I can say is, thank you to the chef and the staff at the Orange tree and as long as the quality of the food doesn’t alter, I will keep coming back each week :)

Sunday roast? Booked in advance? What could go wrong? The kitchen had a 'mare. First warm sunny Sunday of the year, and the pub was packed inside and out. Starters took 50 minutes to arrive. Main courses another 50, then returned as the potatoes weren't cooked. The food itself was decent - the starters were very good. After almost 3 hours we passed on pudding.Shame that prior bookings didn't take precedence over walk-ins when the kitchen was clearly stressed.I'm looking forward to returning for dinner another time.

Not the first time we've been here and certainly won't be the last. Food of exceptionally high quality - just look at the pics - this was our Sunday roast today, and we had beautifully prepared and presented mixed roast, with roast beef, leg of lamb and turkey. The roast potatoes were exceptional, as was the caramelized red cabbage. Service also warm and friendly, as was the atmosphere, with great effort put into Christmas decorations both inside and out. We do a lot of fine dining and this roast was up there, great taste, portion and very fairly priced.Speaking of fairness, I've seen a very few recent shock reviews on here from customers who seem to have a coordinated axe to grind. Maybe they visited on an off day but there's no need for OTT criticisms behind internet anonymity. People leaving unfair reviews like that should think twice about small businesses and their staff making an honest, and hard living in a post-pandemic age. And yet the manager is still bending over backwards to please. That should tell you that they've got a great attitude to customer service. Even though it was getting packed (and rightly popular) they managed to seat a family who turned up on spec, with a bit of extra effort. Lucky family!Keep up the great food and service, guys, we'll be back!
