Sad deterioration in once great auction house.I have used Biddle and Webb for over 50 years. New management took over and since there has been a rapid drop in standards. Staff are surly, uncooperative, unhelpful and downright rude. I bought two coins in July 2021. I arrived to collect them at the appointed time. Once in the building I was ignored whilst the receptionist took a private call. After 10 minutes he left and the building was empty. I called out but was ignored. After 20 minutes, the uncommunicative receptionist returned to tell me they had lost one of the coins. I was subsequently abused by this employee who thought it was acceptable to ignore a customer with an appointment for over 20 minutes. I will not be using Biddle and Webb again. Shocking standards of customer care. Incompetence. Rude. Lack of common courtesy. If in doubt read the other reviews. Avoid at all costs. Highly recommended are Fellows of Hockley or Fieldings of Stourbridge .

Because I explained that I have a heart problem , the guy's who work there helped me considerably , excellent!

The director (James I think) just doesn’t seem very nice to his staff. A few months ago I was in the toilets and heard him just screaming at the young woman behind reception. She smiled when I walked past but she was obviously about to cry. I didn’t go back since but I’ve heard it’s continued even with new staff. I feel very sorry for anyone that works there as they had always been very kind to me, the guy in charge just doesn’t seem nice.

Yippee - Biddle have gone bump. The rudest staff with shocking service and zero customer skills have gradually killed the business.Luckily we still have the excellent Fieldings at Stourbridge and Fellows in the jewellery quarter. Poor management gets its just deserts!

Excellent service especially during these difficult times. They went out of the way to meet my needs for a collection. The guys who dealt with me in person were really helpful.

Closed permanently due to sheer incompetence. Used to be a great auction house when we first started going. Rude staff, a fight to get a truck to collect your items. In their final weeks was pushing items in pallets that were previous sellers junk.

ATROCIOUS customer service. Rude, ignorant people. Rip off merchants. Let them have your 'lots' at your peril!!I submitted a lovely piece for valuation. Suffice to say1) it got left in the storeroom and forgotten about2) After calling, I was promised the valuer would ring. They didn't.3) I I rang again, and very firmly requested a hammer price was applied (i.e. start the bidding at the price I wanted)4) It was then put in the next auction and my instructions ignored.It was sold for way less than I'd requested the bidding start at.5) I wrote an email asking for someone to call me back.Did they? What do you think?.....I would recommend Taylor & Fletcher in Bourton on The Water as an example of excellent service. Wish I'd gone back to them in the first place.

At one point he told me don't expect me to stay all day looking at the cameras"
