Loch View

We stayed one week August/September 2022 in this house.It was one of the best locations we visited.The house has a great view on the nearby loch and is in a walk distance from a beautiful beach.It has plenty of room for up to 6 people and is very well equipped. The kitchen has nearly everything you could imagine. Even good baking equipment is provided as well as some outdoor tableware to take to the nearby beach. Very good.We really loved staying there and enjoyed the silence. The looks in the nightly clear sky were absolutely breathtaking.I can recommend the Bernera walk which passes the house and a day trip to St Kilda.The booking experience was very good. Sally was very nice and clear in communication. Everything worked very well. The only issue I had was that I missed some mails in my SPAM folder. But even this could be dealt with very well.Thanks a lot to Sally. If possible we would definitely book again.

Thank you for allowing us to stay at Loch View the accommodation was clean, well equipped and in a location we could only ever dream of. Sitting outside listening to the waters of the loch lapping gently against the shore, watching the eagles soar overhead and just taking in the peace and quiet was one of our favourite memories. At night the experience of not having to close your eyes to experience total darkness, something we don’t get at home was awesome.For our stay we had done a lot of homework in regards to where we wanted to visit, but found that the island gave us much more round every corner, ever changing scenery, amazing abandoned houses and gorgeous lochs and lochans, so we arrived home with lots of places that we hadn’t visited. This means another visit sometime in the future.

Lochview is simply amazing. Sally’s attention to detail in providing a magnificent home in an incredible setting is sublime. This is our second visit and we can’t recommend both Lochview and Bernera highly enough.IH.

Very relaxing week at Loch View mid September. Originally booked for April but COVID put an end to that. Sally has been most helpful and understanding in re-booking at this difficult time.We weren’t sure what to expect from the weather as it is the Outer Hebrides after all, but it ended up being mixed and on the whole good.An extremely comfortable house in a beautiful setting and well positioned on the beautiful island of Great Bernera enabling you to easily do day trips covering the whole of Lewis and Harris or just to chill at the house and enjoy what’s on the doorstep. Considering all the COVID regulations the house was homely and well appointed. The COVID instructions and procedures were all very clear and we appreciated the work that had gone in to making Loch View as safe as possible and very clean. Interaction with Sally during our stay was very reassuring and professional.The house is well laid out with plenty of space in the open plan living/dining/kitchen andwell furnished. We enjoyed the wood burner on the wet and windy evenings and it was so nice to have a good sized dining table for meals. Very comfortable beds and good showers (often the downfall of many self catering establishments). A real bonus having a utility room and plenty of space to remove outdoor gear and dry it out. The changing light and weather made the view out of the house across the little Loch interesting at all times of the day. So peaceful, just wish we could have stayed for longer.

We’ve just returned from what can only be described a fantastic week at Loch View. The house was immaculate and is very well stocked. The design/layout and the views were phenomenal. The location was exceptional and just a short walk from Bosta beach. We were also treated to many amazing displays of nature with 2 Golden Eagles swooping down from the hills behind on a daily basis and further up the road to a number of Stags and deers. If you want to relax, recharge the batteries this is definitely the place for you. Finally Sally was very attentive and quick to respond, and we would have no hesitation in recommending Loch View and we will definitely be back to stay.

The most stunning holiday home on Lewis!We have just returned from the most amazing week at Loch View, Bernera. It is definitely the most luxurious, immaculate and well equipped holiday house we have ever stayed in and in such a stunning location - you just can't keep your eyes from the amazing view! My children loved bosta beach which is a 10 minute cycle from the house and is beautiful. We visited Harris and spent most days in wetsuits at the beach, it was heaven and such a beautiful island. Thank you Sally for allowing us to stay at your cherished holiday home, it is so beautiful and we had the best holiday!

We would thoroughly recommend a holiday in Loch View. Sally was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and continued to look after us throughout the stay. The location of the luxurious cottage was perfect for anyone wanting to experience Bernera and the Isle of Lewis. It was relatively easy to access all the delights and attractions of the local area from here. The property itself was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing break in spectacular surroundings. We particularly enjoyed the tranquillity of the area, the landscape and the opportunity to see some of the wildlife here. One week was just not enough to see everything and we would love to return soon.

Well we have just arrived home in Oxfordshire after a blissful week on Bernera staying at Loch View. From start to finish our visit was spot on, we had excellent communication throughout with Sally, a pack of edible goodies for when we arrived and a very well equipped house. Everything from house binoculars to baking equipment was catered for. The house is 2 mins drive to a perfect little beach where we spent most of our time as have young children. We were lucky enough to see lots of local wildlife and made sure we fitted in a visit to Uig Sands Restaurant. We would absolutely visit again as our children had to be dragged away! Loch View is a fantastic holiday cottage both in terms of the location and quality of the accommodation. The location on Bernera is within an easy drive to many of the Lewis attractions and within walking distance of Bosta beach. However it is also quiet and peaceful with an amazing view of Bernera and Loch na MuilneThe kitchen is especially well equipped compared to the typical holiday let and has a large fridge and freezer to allow stocking up to avoid regular trips to Stornoway for supplies.We have stayed here twice and would definitely plan to return in future.
