I attended A&E Friday 27th October following a fall indoors. I am full of admiration and grateful for the excellent and caring service that I received. Triage within an hour ,xrays then a very thorough examination by the Doctor. So a very big thank you to all staffBarbara Walker

After a few weeks of discomfort I started having cramps in my lower right abdomen. I went to A&E after my doctor couldn’t see me as they were too busy. Upon entry the nurse quickly sat me down and could see I was in pain. I saw the GP within around 30mins and then was sent to wait for the surgical team with suspected appendicitis. I was there for a few hours and then seen by the surgical doctors who confirmed. I was put on the ward late Tuesday and taken for surgery mid afternoon Wednesday. There were some complications in surgery but it was still completed which I was very pleased about. After being taken back to the ward post surgery I received care and pain relief like clockwork. The nurses on the ward were there to assist me whenever I needed and it genuinely felt like nothing was too much. I have never personally had to use the hospital before and I have to say I have been blown away by their professionalism and dedication to patient care. Incredible work and thank you.

Friendly staff, well signed inside so you can't get lost. Lots of wheelchairs available at the entrance. Paid Parking outside the front of the hospital.About average hospital food. The food is handmade within the hospital, they use local, fresh & healthy choices. Also there is 2 restaurants & 2 shops inside the hospital. Accessible to visitors & patients (excluding patient's who are able to walk to & from.) Vending machines are scattered throughout the hospital with drinks & snacks.Via the (run by volunteers) hospital charity shop, you can use their online website. You can purchase:- food, clothing, puzzles, fizzy drinks etc...They can be delivered to the patient's bed or ward within the hospital. There is a small fee, but it's well worth it. Minimum spend applies, which is another low & affordable price.Items can be purchased from members of public or by the patient.

Had a visit today at the fracture clinic with my wife. The young lady at reception could not have been more helpful even down to sort out our return hospital transport. Well done to all concerned.

I have just had an operation on my toes, and I wish to say how fantastic the hospital were. All the staff from the surgeon Mr Vaughn to the nurses on ward 10, and even the gentleman who served the drinks and also did the cleaning were friendly, caring and so helpful. This has to be one of the best most caring hospitals in the country!

My 2 year old granddaughter had a mishap at home and went to accident and emergency at WSH. The Dr and nurses were amazing, so kind, caring and just lovely with her and us. She was admitted to the hospital on the HDU on Rainbow Ward. Again nothing but kindness and excellent care. I can’t thank WSH enough, I wish I got all the names so I could thank them personally but at the time we were understandably concerned. Thankfully with the excellent care, Amelia recovered and was home very quickly. Thank you to West Suffolk Hospital, truly truly grateful. Sarah.

I just had to spend 2 nights & 3 days in WSH, F4/3. What a hard working bunch of people that keep that place going. They treat everyone with respect & display kindness beyond words. I am in awe of them & shocked by the amount of abuse they get, especially the Nursing Assistants who work their socks of to make patients feel comfortable & sadly get moaned out for things that are out of their control.

Sent me home septic. I had a heart operation at papworth. A few weeks later I feel like death. So I go to A&E. They do bloods etc and decide my heart is fine. Apparently I just need to take some paracetamol. Next day I feel worse so I go to the GP. He pulls up my bloods (from hospital) and tells my I’m septic and should have been given antibiotics at the hospital.
