This is the site of an ancient Pictish Fort. There is god parking within walking distance and you can look down on the nice little harbour on the way.The building is full of historical information, mock ups and models, there is also a very nice viewing area that looks out onto the sea and cliffs. The staff are very knowledgeable and tell the story of the fort engaging well with the visitors and are willing to answer the many questions posed.

Great wee visitor centre staffed by knowledgeable local volunteers. Amazing 360° views! When we visited there was an incoming storm which was very exciting to watch as it swept along the coast.

Visitor center is run by volunteers. It's a fantastic glimpse into the past of Burghead. There is a lot of information about the Pictish Fort and the relics found in the area Fascinating and well worth a visit.

Lived in Burghead for a fair bit now and only been once!! If you visit it is well worth popping in and having a look around its full of interesting facts and info of the surrounding area. If the weathers not great they have a great observation area where you can try spotting dolphins in the dry.

Move along, nothing to see here. If you're thinking of visiting, DON'T. Go somewhere else. Nothing opens till twelve and, once you've finished waiting and finally got to see everything you'll wish you hadn't bothered.

Super little visitor centre. Volunteer was very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to see breaching dolphins from the big windows too.

Enjoyed reading the historical information on display and visiting with the lovely lady in the gift shop. Great 360 degree views on the top observation deck. Gale force winds up there end of Sept 2018.

Unfortunately didn't have enough time to see / read everything as we arrived 10 mins before closing. Jean the volunteer was so lovely & welcoming. She put a wee film on for us to watch about the fort which was really interesting! Hopefully we'll visit again. I would totally recommend if you are in the area to call in.

Great little centre staffed by friendly volunteers. Good view point with binoculars provided. Plenty of information about the Clavie and the Pictish Fort. Even when closed there is access to the roof top view point.

Finally. For years I have been trying to get into the visitors centre so it was with great delight that it was open when I was there. It was very informative and got to see fragments of Burghead bull carvings, along with a visit to the well. Ask for the key and follow the signs to it. It's a enigmatic place. The centre is run by local volunteers so contributions are vital to keep it open and fund further advances on understanding the biggest Pictish fort in Scotland.
