Melisa Dora Ceramics

I did a 1:1 pottery course with Melisa and absolutely loved it! I learnt a lot of techniques and made some beautiful pots to take home. Melisa's teaching style is perfect for someone that has an interest in ceramics but no practical experience, she is very good at adapting to your individual learning pace and supporting you throughout the journey. And the classes were so relaxing that I would have stayed in the studio forever! I would highly recommend if you are interested in trying something new in a friendly environment. It's so great to learn from a talented independent ceramicist!

My son and I did a workshop with Melisa and we both thought it was absolutely fantastic. Melisa explained everything really clearly and the atmosphere was fun and chilled out. We managed to make loads in the time and we’re really looking forward to seeing our work after it’s glazed. Highly recommend Melisa’s courses.

I signed up for three 1:1 lessons with Melisa and they were all brilliant!! Melisa is so patient and such a lovely teacher. It's so much fun learning how to throw pottery and make the cutest little bowls/pots to take home - I hope to do some more lessons again soon! Highly recommend!

I was interested in taking a pottery class in my neighbourhood as its a hobby I've always wanted to pick up, and was so lucky to have found Melisa. Her studio was lovely, she was a great instructor and had such great patience with us. I highly recommend her class if you are wanting to get your hands dirty, and try out pottery! Thanks Melisa :)

I first saw her ceramics in Roslyn, my favorite coffee shop in London.And of course I have her coffee mug at home for my every morning coffee:)I searched her instagram and found out she’s doing classes. The course is structured by 3 sessions, each for up to an hour. Usually it will be done in pairs (as there’s two wheels in her cosy studio), and if you apply single, you will be paired up. However I was lucky enough to take the course alone.I have took several ceramics classes, but it was THE BEST class I took! You will learn the techniques, as she will take you through step by step, but also you get the freedom to try by yourself (and she is always there to correct in case something goes wrong).I particularly like her glazes as the colours are all very gentle and beautiful, yet was surprised to find out that she’s making the glazes by her self! In the glazing session, you will get to chose the colours and the patterns.I have made 5 plates and mugs, which all turned out beautifully and I really enjoyed the session!!It’s only 3 classes so no huge commitment, and highly recommend if you are interested in pottery or planning to start something new as a New Years resolution!!Thank you Melisa for being a great teacher:)!!

Fantastic taster of using the wheel and glazing pots. Melisa's one-to-one teaching meant a lot got done in each hour with her. Very inspiring lessons. Great to see the fruits of her work all around me in the studio too!

Excellent intimate pottery classes and beautiful ceramics. Melisa is a great teacher, very patient and clear instructions. I came into the class as a complete beginner and I am delighted with the pieces I made!

I had a great time in Melisa's taster class. She made me feel really welcome and was very patient. I learnt all of the basics and would highly recommend for anyone who is interested in trying the wheel! I went away really inspired!
