I've rented with a few services in Cardiff within the past 5 years. Within that time I've had some unpleasant experiences with some and obviously some I've had a positive experience with.JNR being one I personally had a great experience with.When ever my partner or myself reported an issue they always rectified it within due time and never any debates or what if" run abouts

Stay away!In my personal opinion, the demands JNR make with regards to guarantors are completely out of line, especially considering their own standards, when it comes to sending documents back the other way. If you can't trust a letting agent to get the dates on a contract correct, what can you trust them on? Honestly it seems like all professionalism goes straight out of the window the second they have your holding fee, and a friend of mine is still waiting to get theirs back, months later.In my honest opinion I would personally recommend avoiding JNR.

Great experience! Great Agency!Everyone that we have spoken to so far has been amazing! Not only are they very helpful, also friendly and undateable (which is needed during the renting process).Everything was so easy and well organised, from the moment we had the house viewing with James to when we got our keys with Ryan (I believe he’s responsible for processing the maintenance) to other members of staff we spoke to. Plus they gave us a folder with EVERYTHING we needed to know concerning the flat.We could not be more pleased with the experience specially after some other adventures that we had, that left us with a bad taste in our mouths.Thank you everyone in the JNR team for making this process nice and easy for us

My experience with JNR has been the worst I have had with housing agencies in Cardiff. I hope that changes.We were given an inaccurate property inventory and they have been unresponsive to emails. In addition, they have not dealt with our maintenance issues adequately. We moved into the property to discover a mouse infestation; a broken and unusable sofa; living room lights that did not work; a wardrobe with a broken base shelf; the frame and sealant on the bedroom window are brittle and have come away from the wall creating a draught that sucks all heat from the room; tattered and torn blinds; and a kitchen window with a broken handle that would not open. Mould is also appearing in all the rooms, despite constantly having windows open and the use of dehumidifiers. The amount is small though and we are keeping on top of it ourselves. We also fixed the blinds and wardrobe ourselves. To their credit, their contractors are friendly and did quickly remove the sofa and replace it with a different one, but that was the only issue that was fixed.They tried to report the maintenance issues as fixed, telling us they had fixed the window/lights and taken pest control measures. The window had not been fixed, some lights were still not repaired and no pest control measures were taken. After pestering them on the phone, the window was fixed 3 weeks later (albeit badly, as I fear the slightest force will snap the unstable handle right off), but the other issues remain. I spoke to a previous tenant and they reported similar experiences, saying that the agency were aware of the mouse infestation and did nothing. The infestation is bad. We can hear crawling in the walls and have seen several mice. We have managed to catch one with traps we paid for ourself (as the agency clearly cannot be trusted to assist us and lied about having put poison down). There were hundreds of droppings under the kitchen cupboards, which made them smell disgusting and the smell had spread around the flat. This is a health risk. We put on gloves and masks and did our best to clean this ourselves, as it was not ok to live in those conditions. The previous tenant moved out 3 months ago and said that the agency are still trying to take their deposit, due to marks on the wall that were already there when they moved in. This makes me fearful for my own deposit.The previous tenant also said that the rail in the wardrobe was not installed by the agency. The tenant had begged the agency to install one as they had to put their clothes on the floor of the wardrobe, and understandably did not want to with a mouse infestation. The agency refused. The rail was installed by a Virgin Media technician, who during his visit to install internet noticed the lack of a rail, and when told of the situation, installed the one he had in his van for free out of pure kindness.To get any response from the agency, who can sometimes be rather rude on the phone (depending on who you speak to, a few of the office staff are genuinely nice and I cannot fault them), you have to hound them on the phone and keep calling.I don't like writing reviews such as this but it is best to be honest. I hope my experience with this agency improves, along with their communication and care towards their tenants.

Helpful staff, but will try to steal your deposit, dispute everything, know your legal rights check if your deposit is under a protection scheme. Also, their maintenence was found lacking at best.

*current tenant with JNR*JNR are brilliant, they are always available via phone and email for me to contact! JNR initially negotiated me moving into my property earlier than planned for my own convenience and the whole flat had already been freshly painted and updated for me. All of the paperwork, contracts and inventory were ready for me when I collected the keys. References and guarantors were set up and arranged with no hassle to myself and smoothly done!Any maintenance issues are fixed asap and they always give notice on inspections or visits- otherwise I have no need to speak to them as my property is fab with no issues.Excellent staff- James has been fantastic throughout my tenancy.Really good agency! I have found my experience very easy and pleasurable with JNR :)

Such an amazing property management company. I would just like to say a massive thank you to James and Ryan who have been a big help to us. This is just a great example of good customer service ! I would highly recommend very friendly and attentive to all of your needs, they do their best to accommodate for everyone !
