Build a Drive

Just had a Resin Driveway completed by Build a Drive! Can highly recommend. Very professional from start to completion. Detailed quotation so we knew exactly what we were getting for our money. Was kept informed along the way by both site and office personnel. Great job guys, thank you.

We had been searching for a company to install a drive for some time and after a number of companies let us down and messed us about we were starting to feel we wouldn't find a company. Then totally by luck i came across a recommendation on Facebook for Build a Drive. Even though they are fairly local to us, we hadn't come across them before but i am so glad we did. Initially completing the instant quote online, within half an hour i received a courtesy call to discuss how they can assist me. We made an appointment for a few days later. Right from the start, we were met with professionalism, courtesy but most of all knowledge. We have no idea when it comes to things like this so having the trust in the company is imperative. We were advised what is the best plan and material to use for our needs, along with timeframes, costs and the process. On providing a formal quote a start date was received quicker than expected. I received regular calls from the office providing me with updates and what to expect running up to the start date along with all through the process. I didn't have to call to chase or follow up any queries once, that was a major plus for me following all the messing about with previous companies. On the first day the excavation of the area was completed, leveled and first base hardcore installed. I was surprised how much had been completed in a short timeframe. The next day was the edging for the drive and vehicle crossing ready for the first level of tarmac. The final process was the finish and top level of tarmac. Taking the advice to have a wider area and choose tarmac was the best decision we made. Our street is often met with lots of parked cars due to a school being close by, having the extra width enables us to park no matter where cars are parked. The tarmac is perfectly smooth and angled slightly for drainage which has definitely been put to the test over the last couple of weeks of heavy rain, no puddles and the rain just simple runs off the tarmac. Couldn't be happier with our drive, best decision we made to have Build a Drive complete it. Thanks to all the staff at Build a Drive! We 100% recommend them.

Great communication, professionalism and punctuality. Most of all, they did a great job of the drive. Even when things went badly (someone stole their dumper truck off our drive!), they were supportive and still kept to their timescales. Cannot recommend them enough, especially when several other companies had previously let us down.

We had Indian sand stone setts. Nearly 400m2. Top professional job. Was a pleasure to have the team and job complete with minimal hassle. Will use again.

I can't rate Buildadrive highly enough. They've transformed the mess that was my driveway into a fantastic looking pattern imprinted concrete one. Decent and hardworking, they turned up when they said they would and despite some issues caused by the bad weather, they didn't stop until the driveway was finished to the highest standard. Proper job done. Absolutely no complaints.

We used Build a Drive to replace and extend our driveway with a new PIC concrete drive. The job involved removing the existing broken drive, widening at the front, installing lots of new drainage and laying the new PIC concrete surface. From start to finish, we found Build a Drive very professional, friendly and reliable, and the quality of work was excellent. We would highly recommend.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID..DO NOT USE, prices quoted increase daily and change at any time, prices quoted are incorrect and the company mis-quote and then add money on even after receiving a quote in writing; saying they had made a mistake and cannot do the work at the price quoted...... Mark came and did a site visit. Gave me a quote over the phone however, this did not include everything I had asked for as he had not written anything down when he visited. No listening skills whatsoever. Told me he had to do another site visit, no idea why he had to come out again. Told me it would be an additional £1000 for what I wanted. Sent me a quote which was around £4000 more than what he had quoted as he had forgot to include all the fencing and assumed I only wanting the front fence doing, despite a conversation about the removal of all the fence. To then visit the company to discuss the issue for them to say they cannot do the work they said for the price they quoted and it would be £800 more, despite knocking off £1000. No idea what they are doing and clearly haven't a clue what they are quoting for. Still not even received the other quotes I asked for 6 days later. They had clearly made a mistake when quoting and tried to wriggle out of it by lying.

Had my old broken concrete drive replaced with impressed concrete. From start to finish, they were friendly,professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend them. To say we are delighted with our new drive would be an understatement. Brilliant communication from the team. Very pleased.

Highly recommended. Everything about our dealings with Andy and his BuildADrive team was outstanding, from my initial enquiry to the very end of the job. Even the neighbours complimented the team on their friendly and pleasant nature.Plus the wesbite is a breath of fresh air, with clear pricing and loads of detail to help guide your decisions. If only all businesses were as transparent as this!We had a big area to deal with, which ran round 3 sides of the house and included old slabs, and compacted hardcore. Andy took time to explain the various options we had and when we settled on Pattern Imprinted Concrete, the price he quoted was very attractive indeed.The preparatory work was done quickly and effectively, and with the minimum of inconvenience to us. The commitment to quality from Andy and his foreman Chris shone through, and when some of the details weren't up too his exacting standards, they worked with their team over a weekend (including Sunday) to get it right. That's faultless customer service and a testament to his commitment to quality.The concrete was laid over a couple of days, again with minimum disruption to us - though the colouring process does great a lot of dust, so be aware.Once the concrete was down, Andy's team were back three times over the next week to seal it, wash it down, and make the areas around the drive instantly useable. Finally, Andy was back a few days later to make the finishing touches and give the street a jetwash to get rid of any left-over muck.All in all this was an amazing job, and we are really REALLY please with the results, and what we paid for it. I can't recommend Andy and his team highly enough.
