Russet Greyhound Sanctuary

Lived close to the sanctuary and visited regularly. Fist class care and attention given to the dogs and their accommodation. If you have any spare cash it will be well spent here.

Excellent , good job there is places like this so retired greyhounds can have a chance to live the life they deserve after there experience of racing . Can't wait to collect my new dog . Lost my greyhound to heart failure 2 weeks ago at age of 12

Over 1000 greyhounds re-homed. We got Storm a year ago so many need forever homes.

A wonderful sanctuary run by Sandra, a true greyhound advocate. They have kindly donated the use of a free paddock to exercise your hound safely (please note, cash donations help!) and you can board your hound when you go away at very competitive rates. There’s a grooming parlour too! I would give 6 stars if I could. Bridie loves going back which is such a great advert for Russet and the amazing, dedicated staff.

A superb history of rehoming and caring for so many Greyhounds. Nine years ago we had our first two Greyhounds from Russett, we've had four of our five hounds from here and have always been impressed with the improvements upon improvements and all the hard work put into the facilities for the welfare and kindness to the dogs.Sensible real world advice is always available, and Sandra takes extra special care to make sure you get the right dog(s). Boarding service is great too.

Amazing place, amazing lady who runs it and fab volunteers. They are all passionate about what they do and the care and love they give to the dogs is wonderful. Can't wait for our new addition to arrive

Wow,what a fabulous place Russet Greyhound Sanctuary is.Everyone there is helpful and welcoming.Sandra Deacon is hands down the most invested and knowledgeable person regarding greyhounds that I have ever known.We looked at 4 dogs that would be suited to our family/needs and Sandra gave us very in depth knowledge and advice about each one.We were able to meet them all,walk them,pet them,take them off the lead etc.We were not at all rushed to make our choice.Once we decided on the right dog for us,we were given plenty of advice about the right care for her.Sandra fell over herself to make sure that we were all happy before we left.The sanctuary itself is like a shrine to greyhounds,all of the ones that we saw were so happy and clean.They have a lovely area to run and play in.If you want to adopt a greyhound then this is the place that will help you find the right dog for you.Thanks Sandra x
