Made a booking a few days before wanting braids but they laughed and persuaded me to get crochet done (that's faster) that I didn't ask for. I have no choice because there are not so many African & Caribbean hair salons in the area.Turning up to the appointment all the hairdressers were not aware of my booking and I had two hairdressers switching to getting my hair done. Whilst getting my hair done I commented that it's too volumed and needs to be layered but I don't think most of the staff understand their customers and they do whatever they want.Towards the end of the service, I was unhappy with my hair and booked another appointment elsewhere same day. The business is only good at blow dries and hair treatments. If it's not a busy day they're also good at cornrows.

Staff great, prices are cheap but just be careful with added charges that they spring up on you randomly. Initial prices were given over the phone then I was told something completely different in the shop. Apart from that, staff is great, they pay attention to detail and they are extremely friendly towards women of colour. Also learn how to speak Somali language because they will speak about you in their language.

I went first time at winta saloon which is located at Wembley Central , I went to do braids there 2 days ago , and my experience was really bad , and I suggest everyone who ever reading this review please don’t go and waste your time there, I had done single braids with extensions and it’s was so bad the next day all my hair came out from the braids, which was done very un professionally , this was my 3rd time doing braids somewhere else , and never happened like this before , but just wanted to try this saloon and the result was very bad , when I called the owner of the shop , she was laughing on the phone and saying to me , if I had done the damage on purpose with my hair , I was in that saloon 3 and half hours , and the result next day was very bad when I asked her the refund she refused to pay my money back, she told me to come to fix them again , and than I need to waste another 3 hours at the saloon and also she’s choosing the date of me , for their staff messing my hair, she should have called me very next day, I really dint like the way she spoke to me. So overall experience was not good for me. I really don’t want to give even 1 star for this place .

I will never use this hair salon or recommend it to anyone! This is our third and last time we are going to Winta Hair Salon in Wembley as we have had to wait for nearly 6 hours for them to do my 3 daughters hair which they already knew about and agreed upon doing on Thursday 25th August, but had not remembered in doing so today which had lead to them leaving us waiting for hours since 10.30am (booked appointment) as a form of punishment for complaining about the long waiting period. They greeted and served their favorite customers who came many hours after us and many without booked appointments. I have always paid them between 40 - 45 pounds per child, but for bad customer service in return. I am off to find a better Hair Salon who treats its customers fairly.

I was very disappointed with the services at Winta. I booked an appointment for 11am. There was no real acknowledgement of me as a customer. I waited for 45 minutes and walked out. I was just felt like I was invisible.I was not given an update or an apology, as to why I was not seen to at 11am. I totally understand that the hair dressers can run behind schedule. I would not mind if they said sorry madam we are running behind by 15 minutes". Or say they made a mistake

Been going to Wintana for the last 10+ years! Old school salon, so don’t expect you usual salon treatment , buttt they are good at what they do , and your hair will come out looking fresh and sleek. It’s a gem for everyone, the google reviews might be bad, but they are packed out day in and day out for years because people just keep coming back because it’s really hard to find a mixed curly hair salon that will cater to your hair just the way you need to. I don’t get braids or anytningc I get my usual butter or protein treatment / with straightening. It’s a local spot and the local knows. Doing amazing Wintana !

Do not go here if you have type 4/Afro hair. I originally came in wanting to have my hair wash, straightened and cut but decided to leave with a horribly done blow dry. There is a lack of knowledge and/or care and an overall lack of professionalism at this “salon”. I came here on 18/11/2023 and had decided to wait to wash my hair as my scalp was left sore by the rough treatment that it was subjected to.I arrived without an appointment as I tried to book one over the phone but was told that I could just walk in, however as I walked in I was asked if I had an appointment which I thought as strange. I was told to wait 30 minutes to get my hair done which I found reasonable and left. I came back within 30 minutes and was told to wait, I waited a further 30 minutes and I asked if I could go and come back as it was obvious that I would have to wait longer to get my hair done. I was told that I had to wait longer. I waited and was finally told to sit to get my hair washed. However the person who I was pointed to was already taking care of someone else so. Then another customer told me to get up as she wanted to get her hair washed even though there were two wash basins. I asked the lady who told me to sit there if I was going to get my hair washed and she said yes but there was still no sign that anyone was free to do my hair. I should have left then as had been dismissed multiple times already. Unfortunately for me I stayed, finally my hair got washed after 1hr 30mins of waiting. First the lady who was the owner started on my hair, left me in the bowl to start washing the other customer’s hair (who told me to get up) then after a while the “stylist” was originally supposed to do my hair came and started washing my hair.My hair was not washed or detangled properly as no one obviously knew how to style type 4 hair. My hair was not sectioned or conditioned properly and a short bristle hard plastic scalp massager was used to “detangle” my hair which ripped out the ends of my hair.I wast then moved to get my hair blow dried which is where my experience gets even worse. I was the one who had to ask for heat protectant and leave in conditioner. Even so only about 5 pumps of heat protectant was used in my hair. The “stylist” roughly tore through my hair with a bendy hairbrush followed by the blow dryer as she still hadn’t sectioned my hair and so it was still tangled and knotted at the ends. I had to explain to her which another stylist had to re explain that she had to detangle from the ends to the roots. She did this for about 5mins before she stopped and continued to rip out my ends. I started to become upset internally as I was being treated like a guinea pig as this person obviously did not know how to style my hair. I decided to tell her that I wanted to just get blow dried as I haunted to leave as soon as possible. I paid £20 on the verge of tears and left.Thankfully my hair reverted but I have split ends now so I will need to spend more money with a reputable hairdresser to cut my hair. In one one the pictures you can see how knotted my hair was left.
