Went in for skirting board they didn't have the exact profile or size I was looking for but I've not been able to find it elsewhere either. The guys were happy to find a solution for me and found the closest match of profile which was only available in a larger size and cut it down lengthways to make it suitable. The skirting board was prepared and delivered in good time.

Gillsons is an excellent timber merchant. I've been there many times for wood for my house.. skirting boards, architrave, battons, shelving etc. Really great prices and excellent service and if you need your wood to be cur to your specific sizes, they will do so .A place I go to when I need timber and will continue to use as long as I require them.Thoroughly recommended.

I’m not local to Plymouth but was building a shed from scratch for my son who does live in the area. Ordered all the required timber from Gillsons, price was competitive and they were able to deliver within days of placing the orders. Special mention for Andy who dealt with my orders and Paul for delivering the timber to the property which is challenging from a car drivers point of view, let alone anything bigger. Would use them again.

We recently had wardrobes fitted and installed in our new loft conversion as well a refresh of our staircase (new handles, newel posts and spindles). Our Carpenter, Devon Oak Interiors, did a fantastic job with the support of Gillsons Timber. Gillsons provided them with materials and space to get the job done and the results speak for themselves.

The guys were really friendly and helpful, a nice change compared to the grumpy approach from it's competitors. My first visit but great banter, great help loading up and a reasonable price. I'll be back.

Been purchasing from gilsons for my personal diy projects for the last 5 or 6 years. Always received a fantastic friendly service, help with loading, advice on materials or a different approach to solve a problem. I only go somewhere else if they don't sell it!
