A brilliant old fashioned pub where conversation is king! Fantastically friendly landlady who was very accommodating and a couple of roaring fireplaces upon entry, what more could you want. Great prices and a nice stream of punters on a Sunday evening which was nice to see. We’ll be returning soon!

A true hidden little gem that has more history then any pub I've been to before. The landlady was kind, talkative and proud (rightly so) of her establishment. The prices were normal for any where never mind a southern village pub.Would highly recommend as it'll be the perfect stop for any hiker in the area.

Like stepping back in time. Beautiful old building lovingly maintained. The garden is peaceful and the delicious beer is clearly kept with care.

Lovely little village pub with friendly locals and my husband days the beer is good. He should know! Tonight there was a live performance by a poet called Luke Wright. It was brilliant, funny, witty, entertaining, clever and thought provoking all in an hour which left plenty of drinking time. Sad to say last evening of entertainment in the marquee until warm weather again next year.

What at absolute gem. Time has stood still at this very traditional country local - no wall-to-wall sports, jarring musak" gaming machines or any other distractions. Just good honest country folk
