Couldn’t fault the food and friendly service. Probably the most authentic curry in many years. Had a great chat with Shiraz who was very friendly and went the extra mile to make the experience very memorable. I will definitely return and highly recommend this excellent restaurant.

Our first visit here.Really nice decor and furniture. The velvety blue booths" feel very lush and private.The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much for them.The atmosphere was great - we arrived just after opening time and within a short time the restaurant was full even though it was a Monday evening and I can see why it is so popular.Complimentary popadums/sauces to start and a chai tea to finish.Our menu choices arrived very quickly and all were presented beautifully. The portion sizes are generous. All the meat was so tender and tasty. I had the lamb shank which was amazing - deliciously soft and exactly how I requested it. Others included biriyani

Best place I've had in Derby. Staff are intelligent and mannered, food is amazing delicious, there's a lot of attention to detail, facilities are clean and well decorated. Price of food is very reasonable.

We were visiting England from the Netherlands and stopped over in Derby for a night. Reading the good reviews, we decided to have dinner here and the reviews didn't lie. The service was very good, and Shiraz very kindly helped us when we had a little issue with parking. The food was delicious, very flavourful and for after we had dessert and complimentary tea.Overall, it was a really nice meal and I would recommend anyone to come and enjoy a meal here. Thanks to Shiraz and all the staff!

Found from Google restaurant recommended, glad we took a punt.Attentive staff, delicious hot food - very authentic & nice atmosphere. Impressed with everything, even the cookie dough dessert & milkshake!. I'll try the waffles next time though.Parking is free after 6pm I believe.Look at my photos & salivate - it is that good!.

Awesome service, very instagram-able, great mixed grill, however always check waiters when it comes to certain curries as they adapt some of the dishes for 'local English taste buds' and not apna.The waiter however was awesome in picking this up and change the dish for one we'd prefer as good will.Must place to visit in Derby if your feeling the need for desi munch!

My second time visiting Tarka, have to say this restaurant keeps getting better. The food is amazing and I especially love the options to have food cooked to my preference as all the meals are prepared freshly to order.Having grown up in Birmingham and being no stranger to good curries, I have to say Tarka stands out as my favourite ever restaurant. As not only is the food fantastic the staff and service are excellent and always attentive.Can’t recommend Tarka enough and really look forward to my next visit to Derby.

What a fantastic restaurant. The food was very good and generous sized portion's.Shiraz was a brilliant host making sure we were all ok.Would highly recommend a visit!

Mine and my husbands favourite restaurant. We always come here on our date nights as we know the food is always going to be 10/10 and is amazing quality food - you know its cooked fresh and not just taken out of the freezer and warmed up!The main manager Shiraz, always gives us the best service and the atmosphere is really nice too.I definitely recommend the Achari Gosht - in my opinion the best dish on the menu!

Best Authentic Curry in Derby. Chicken Karahi is amazing. Staff are excellent, extremely friendly and great service. Can’t fault the place!
