Amazing staff. Great haircut and colour as always by Kate.

I have recently moved to oban, I have lived abroad and in London and never used a hair salon since I was maybe 10, I always went home to my hairdresser, including flying back from France as I would never trust anyone else with my hair. Today that changed, Kate put me at ease as soon as I walked in the door, she saw I was nervous and did absoulty everything to make sure I left the salon happy. My hair is amazing I love it and exactly how I imagined it to be, the service lovely, friendly, chatty and extremely knowledgeable staff. Kate is absoulty fantastic, I have found my oban hairdresser and I couldn't be more happier and extremly relaxed.

Went here for a hair up for a wedding and make up and nails the girls were very friendly and professional would go back in a minute

Tammy cut my hair and I loved it. She demonstrated that she understood what I wanted and how my hair sits really well and gave great advice! All the girls are lovely and made me feel really relaxed. I'll definitely be back!

Recently moved to the area and looking for a hairdresser so am testing the local salons out.Booked The Ark after the reviews on google.Poor customer service - no welcome, left waiting ages with no explanation. Never offered a drink, magazines etc.The blow dry was terrible - every other hairdresser uses a large bristle round brush for a smooth straight b/d, here they used an ordinary denman. The straighteners HAD to be used as opposed to usually just being an option.Should have known better as the woman staying in our neighbour’s air bnb had told me she’d had shoddy service; her hair wasn’t washed properly and the hairdresser tutted when she pointed it out!? I felt guilty for suggesting she try the ark when I hadn’t yet been myself.Plus the place was full of children running around; it turns out that staff use the salon as daycare too. Hardly relaxing when you’re trying to get some ‘me-time- away from your own kids!And it was really messy. Not a great experience. Expensive for a second class service and blow dry.
