Iris Art Photography

My wife, daughter and I attended iris art in Stockport. The place was a little difficult to find, but in a quirky old mill which was cool, interesting and fun to visit. We felt comfortable the whole time we were there, and the one person we dealt with was super friendly.We each had our eyes photographed, and we bought four pictures - our singular irises, as well as an 'art' picture of all three. This was an expensive day out (seriously expensive) but one we were excited for.The 'studio', a room in the mill had one person in it (the sales rep, according to the website) who did everything - including the photos. The photographer named on the website was not present. No one was!You don't get to see your actual photos at any point, and your iris pictures are not a true photo - it's art created from multiple photos of your iris (I believe). You pay before you receive anything, so be aware of that. You receive pictures via email from the photographer named on the website before anything is printed, so you know what your pictures will look like. This was nice, and you can ask for changes before you receive your print.I don't think paying before hand is a problem, but be aware that 'metallic prints' are just glossy photos. And at £55 a pop, they're a lot ( we made this mistake). We expected three metal prints, put got three 10x8 glossy paper pictures for £165 (: more expensive than all my graduation photos combined!Also be aware that some eye colours appear to be poorly photographed - green eyes ( my green eyes at least) are not green on the art. I'm not sure if this is to do with lighting, or simply because green eyes appear this way under scrutiny. However, my wife and daughters blue eyes look stunning, and the example brown and hazel eyes in the studio also look great.We got our pictures two weeks after. Super high quality, and what we expected, but they are really very expensive. The photos look amazing on the wall, and a great conversation starter.In summary, a great hour out and nice pictures - but at a high price.

Myself and my daughter had such a great experience having our iris photographed, I am extremely pleased with the finished product.Joanne is very knowledgeable on this particular kind of photography, and makes you feel very relaxed the moment you walk through the studio doors.I will definitely be recommending Iris art photography to my family and friends.Thank you Joanne and team.

I had an amazing experience at the iris studio!It was so interesting to take part and watch how they take photos and the finished product!I was so comfortable in the studio and it was finished quicker than I expected!Would 100% recommend getting it done as its amazing!
