Knead & Desire Bakehouse

I went on an amazing Sourdough workshop at this wonderful bakehouse! Matthew was a superb teacher, I learnt so much and got to eat lots of his fabulous bread as well. I would thoroughly recommend this day course and all of the bakehouse bread. The 100% wholemeal is my new favourite loaf!

An amazing range of sourdough breads, beautifully baked and delivered from the friendliest baker around. Some regular staples, mixed with something different each week, is always a welcome Friday treat.

Oh wow that chorizo sourdough is a triumph! It's stunning!! Absolutely gorgeous. We also had the joy of the stollen last Christmas and that was amazing too.

Matthew bakes the most AMAZING bread - the best sourdough we've ever had and his focaccia is delicious - it only lasts a few minutes in our house!

This bread is simply fantastic. The standard has always been consistently so high. Matthew also has such passion and such a great ethos and it's been incredible being able to buy bread that contains locally grown and/or milled grain. Keep up the most excellent work!

This is the most brilliant bread we've ever eaten. Using ancient grains, and local suppliers of the flours. A fabulous service. Delivered every week by the brilliant baker. He's fantastic. And the Christmas Treats he made were the highlights of our Christmas. Thank you Matthew. You are better than we imagine Paul Hollywood would be.

Thank you for a truly fantastic day! Under the expert eye of our Master Baker, Matthew, we were taken through every step of the sourdough process from the magic of the starter through making and then baking our own sourdoughs. We made the Silver Award winning and delicious wholemeal loaf with molasses (my favourite), the flavoursome rye with pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and the superb Table loaf. We left with our arms full of our breads, not to mention the wherewithal, knowledge and confidence to begin our own sourdough bread baking at home! A super day: lovely company; freshly baked pastries on arrival and a delicious lunch and tea. With hands on tuition from an award-winning Master Baker - who could ask for more?
