I started to do Pilates one month ago at the Pilates reformer studio in St Helens. I have been having one to one sessions once a week with Nisha Srivastava. I started to do the reformer Pilates as I heard good things about it and the many health benefits of doing the reformer Pilates. I've struggled the last year with a couple of injuries through sports and I was looking at trying the reformer Pilates as its an all over body workout without you isolating certain muscles. Basically by doing the reformer Pilates you get a all over body workout and depending how good you get you also get a bit of a cardio workout at the same time. Since I started doing the reformer Pilates one month ago I have noticed a few things , first of all my posture is better than it has ever been and I feel that I have grown as I am always standing straight and tall also I don't slouch anymore when standing or sitting I've found that without me thinking am always correcting myself to a better posture. I also feel that I have got more energy to deal with my busy schedule. I absolutely love doing the reformer Pilates and can feel the difference after only 5 sessions. Am looking forward to see how am feeling by 20 sessions because it's unbelievable how good it makes you feel as you can notice the benefits so soon after starting. Nisha is very highly trained and is top of her game. I would highly recommend Nisha to any one looking on improving there over all well being and physical benefits as the reformer Pilates can help you in so many ways. Thanks Nisha Richard....

I have been going to Northwest Pilates for over 12 Months now and have definitely seen an improvement. I have arthritis in both knees and suffer with lower back pain. I can now do squats and very rarely suffer with back pain. it does not cure arthritis but makes you more mobile. Nisha knows her stuff as do her staff. I cannot recommend this pilates enough. i have tried other studios but no where as good as here.

I have been going to the reformer classes for almost 2 years now. My level of fitness for a 64 year old is really good and I know this is a direct result of attending the reformer classes as part of my fitness regime. Marketa is a wonderful teacher and guides me through the exercises each week. She has also recommended additional exercises for my weak ankles, which has helped me a lot. My daughter (24) also joined the classes a few months ago and loves going along with me, which proves that age is just a number.A big thanks to Nisha and Marketa for the wonderful classes.

We have been enjoying Pilates sessions at Nisha’s St Helens Studio for a few years now both inprivate and group classes with Marketa.Since Covid-19 everything is now online and we were unsure whether virtual sessions would “cut the mustard”.We need not have worried however, as we find they are excellent.Nisha is a committed, experienced and an inspiring teacher. Her classes cater for both beginners and those with a higher level of ability,and there are a variety of sessions offered during the week which deal with different themes.The virtual sessions work seamlessly via the Zoom App and Nisha is on hand to help with any technical issues.We find we are able to keep improving our general fitness, strength and flexibility in a positive setting and really enjoy it.Highly recommended, try it.D & S J

I initially started with Nisha as I had shoulder pain resulting from an injury and inflammation. Prior to that I had tried many other “solutions” over a year including two series of physio sessions, massage, acupuncture etc.Nisha gave me a significant amount of paperwork to fill in over several weeks then we were ready to start.Nisha and I spent 3 hours together, designed a 4 month programme for me and then we spent an hour going through it. I had the odd one to one session and once into the 4th month I was so much improved I could join her group studio and her Monday night classes.Twelve months on I am out of pain!!!! Not only that I have gained a better shape and getting stronger in mind and body.Then came Covid19! Nisha reacted quickly and is running marvellous Zoom classes which offer variety and clarity of instruction.Thanks so much Nisha, I am seeing this period of isolation as a period of personal growth and loving your classes in all their guises.

I have been going to the pilates equipment studio for over 12 months ... It is the best thing I ever did. I went initially because it was recommended to me because I had lower back problems. I was reliant on pain killers because my job involves lifting. I have not had a pain killer since I started going and hopefully my back troubles are a thing in the past. I also now go to the matwork classes and between the two I am feeling muscles I never knew existed.. my posture and muscle tone are very much improved. I have never before stuck to a class for so long but I am really annoyed if for some reason I have to miss a class now... the classes go so quick you almost don't realise you are exercising!! Nisha and her other teachers are all amazing and so dedicated.. the classes are tailored to each individual as the classes are kept very small deliberately. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone with back troubles or anyone just wanting to increase fitness or stamina.

I have just started to get into Pilates since September this year. I saw the advert in the paper for the clinical Pilates, it stated Pilates can help with neck and back pain which I have suffered with for years, and boy was this right! Since joining I don't think I can be without it now! I love it.I started doing Nisha's Monday evening Clinical Pilates which I thoroughly enjoyed, found extremely relaxing and really helped to ease my neck pain. From then I joined the Reformer classes ran by Marghita (sorry unsure of spelling). The instructor is great, she supports me and pushes me which I like, I find it challenging but in a good way, It really helps strengthen and align my body...I almost feel taller when I've finished. Once I went into the class with chronic neck pain and I was a bit dubious about going but I kid you not, half way through the class, the pain was gone!When I do the classes I forget about the stresses of life and have the most amazing 'me time' , Pilates really helps to replenish and revitalise me and I know I have found my new life long hobby. Thank you

Having suffered with back pain for most of my adult life, I began attended Nisha's Pilates classes and have now been back pain free for the last 3 years.I cannot speak highly enough of Nisha's tuition and the wider team of instructors also provide consistently high quality, challenging, and supportive classes which are always a joy to attend.If you are looking to improve your general wellbeing and treat painful back conditions such as mine, I cannot recommend this studio highly enough.

I've been attending Nisha's online classes during the pandemic lockdown and have found regular practice, 3 times a week, really useful for maintaining a routine and improving my mental health. I have been a member of the North West Pilates Centre for many years and in these strange times, hearing Nisha's familiar voice and guidance is very reassuring.
