The Falcon Inn
Mixed feelings about the Falcon. Arncliffe is a beautiful little village and the falcon itself is externally very picturesque, though a bit of a mixed bag inside (but nice enough). It’s just a small pub really, with a tiny bar and a few choice ales (all fine). The food is also fine; not more or less than you’d expect for a small place. Now, providing you arrive, let’s say 1 hour within stated opening hours and you don’t make any extra requests, then you’ll probably have a nice experience. Otherwise, you’ll likely be met with unnecessary hostility from staff. Really not very nice people. The locals however are very friendly and my views on the Falcon are in no way reflective on them.

The Falcon Inn
The most wonderful quirky pub you'll ever come across. Well worth a detour to Arncliffe to visit for something to eat or just a drink. You just need to get there for the experience.

The Inn is a quite Inn and the meal we had was good and tasty. The small bar room is dim although cosy which is a room of curiosities with the wall filled with all sorts of items from days gone by. The barman was very helpful and friendly.

This is the most miserable pub in the world perfectly complemented by its even more miserable staff -- especially the humourless oaf behind the bar who loves the sound of his own voice but has nothing interesting to say. It's the sort of place where you'll never find locals, and that should tell you everything you need to know. It survives on the back of The Woolpack, and for no other reason than this. There are far more welcoming pubs in neighbouring villages.PS - I wanted to give this zero stars, but Google won't let me comment unless I give it a star.

Asked for coffee or cup of tea & was abruptly told they don't sell coffee or tea, even tho they are clearly pictures of people who have been in the past with cups of coffee & tea as you can see if the pictures I've provided that someone uploaded, Very bizarre behaviour?

The Falcon Inn
My friend and I spent 2 nights at The Falcon Inn. This quirky, old worldy pub had plenty of atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by Caroline, Andy & Charlie, very friendly and always helpful. We had a good nights sleep as the beds were comfortable and clean. The dinner menu was varied, and the English Breakfast was superb. The only reservation we had was the bedroom door (sticking). We liked the facilities in the room, but just wished we had a small TV to watch. We enjoyed our stay, it was central for walking & hiking and spending time in other areas of the Yorkshire Dales. I would recommend this pub and accommodation. Highlight at the Falcon, seeing the sheep being rounded up on The Green by the local Farmer on a sunny morning, having a lovely breakfast served by lovely staff.

The pub is in a nice location but the staff were rude. If you are planning a walk, maybe plan another stop! Also the outside toilets were not clean.

Quirky inside this pub was a welcome sight after the hike over from Kettlewell. The claim to fame is that the pub was used for the Woolpack in Emerdale. I wouldn't describe the landlord as particularly friendly, maybe a little brusque. Food service times are displayed in the pub and I would always check as times are limited. Inside the pub is worth a look, little rooms with lots of nick nacks. The toilets are outside across a yard, clean but getting into the cubicle is a squeeze. Lots to make this a place to visit if you are in the area.

Quaint little pub but not the most friendly and very expensive. Two lemonades cost £10 and they were poured from a 2L bottle from the local shop.
