I went here last night and ordered a chicken burger. I have never had anything like it before. It was so overcooked it actually didn't have any chicken left in the middle. It was just crispy batter that I near broke my tooth on when attempted to eat at first. As it was closing when I placed my order I couldn't take it back so had to bin it. I don't normally complain but think it's best the owner reads this so they can train staff accordingly.

food is over all great, but I ordered a cheesy gravy chip and the cheese wasn't melted at all, it probably isn't a main priority,but I do thoroughly enjoy a melted cheese and gravy chip:)

I placed an order for Drive-In delivery to the car as I wanted to keep as socially distanced as possible. Five minutes after the allotted time, I had to go into the shop to see where my order was when I was told it would still be another five minutes, so I said that's fine and told them I was parked just across the road. A further fifteen minutes later, having seen many people come and go with their food, I had to go back into the shop again to see where my order was, only to find it was sitting on a shelf going cold. When I placed the order, I was told it would be ready in 18 minutes; instead it took 40!! Totally unacceptable and I will NEVER use them again.

Very disappointed with the quality of the fish I purchased from The Salt House tonight. Virtually no fish and not a good taste. Waited for 10 minutes while it was cooked but tasted as if it was left over from earlier. All batter and very little fish. Tried phoning at 8.10 pm to give feedback but phone not answered …

While we appreciate and expected long delivery times, we ordered at 5.30 and were given an expected delivery time of 7.05 which is fair under the circumstances. The order didn’t arrive and we tried to get through from 8 o’clock. We can’t go out as we’ve to self-isolate. It rang out or we were cut off a few times after 8. Eventually at 8.45 someone answered the phone, said all the orders were out and asked did we want a refund. If they’d told us it would take over 3 hours we obviously wouldn’t have ordered, that’s my issue.

Just got 2 cod. We both couldn't eat it. Batter soggy & fish obviously not cooked enough. The chips were rotten too. Used to be good when the 2 guys were there.

They started really well. I thoroughly enjoyed it. After that, they stopped being able to make jumbo battered sausages. Then they would always give me 3 normal battered sausages instead. The next time, it was two. The time after that, they didn't serve them at all. My most recent visit: two.The chips are either piping hot or lukewarm.It's really hit or miss here depending who you get.What you do is up to you.
