British Airways Galleries South Lounge
I am afraid this lounge leaves much to be desired for. I visited on a Wednesday, at around 5pm. The indicator said the lounge was at 3/5 full, but in reality, I would say it is closer to 4/5.There is one central buffet area with a salad bar (offering lettuce, beans, quinoa etc); a hot food bar (offering rice, potatoes, a curry, a stew and some quiche). There is also a picnic area offering sandwiches, slices of pound cake, pickles and two cheeses. A juice bar offered fresh juice and a mystery smoothie in an opaque box which I dared not try. The quality of food was fine; I would describe them as cafeteria food.Pictured here is one of the “free pour” alcohol area dotted around the lounges. This is standard, nothing to write home about. BA attempted to offer 3 cocktails but they were uninspiring (and not very alcoholic). The lounge also has plenty of tea and coffee stations, which were self service machines, and they were okay - not many alternative milks though. The main complaint I have is with hygiene. I am easy to please, but the sheer amount of flies present near the coffee and tea stations is rather alarming. This is the same with the bathrooms - although there seem to be someone cleaning them constantly, they were NOT clean. I will spare you the details. It is rather shocking that the main Heathrow bathrooms were in much better shape.Given how many competitors there are in Heathrow, BA really ought to step up their game if they want to keep premium offerings.

Third floor, no queue at all when we arrived (Thursday, 17:00), the receptionist was quite rude to us when I tried to scan the boarding pass for me and my daughter. She said directly to us that my daughter are not allowed, so I insisted to try to scan again and it went through. She just looked away and just silent till I ask if she is allowed now? Then she said yes. There are not much available seats when we got here, but food, drink, and WiFi were excellent.

It’s a large lounge. Very spacious inside with variety of seatings. The food were delicious although there were not too much choices. There was a code on the table to order hot food from it. But we ended up not ordering anything. There were plenty of drink selections and a couple of coffee machines scatted out in multiple locations which was very convenient. There were overcrowded. Luckily we found a quiet corner with a pair of chairs with table in between. So we stayed for a decent 2.5 hours.

Visit many times but today I was totally disappointed. The lounge was dirty, most free seats have dirty tables with leftover food and drinks on it. Ask staff for password for today 2 of them cannot communicate in English. Before I could get bottles of water (plastic or glass), now water only on filter taps. Food looks very dry and not very inviting, sandwiches are extremely dry. Not fresh juices so no choice for person which can't drink anything with gas. That was the worst visit I have here. All the lounges at Heathrow are really bad now so if you not gold member is waste of time and money. I travelling a lot and visit many lounges over the years but need to say British Airways ones changed for worse rapidly. Very sad and disappointing.

The lounge was quiet early in the morning and had a great selection of breakfast items, fruit and drinks at the bar. The bar is a little tired in some areas such as the seating and power points. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would visit again.

The only thing good about this lounge is the mark improvement on the food front. Nothing else positive to say. This lounge is tired, in bad need of an upgrade. Nothing works. I counted 4 ports that had power for charging, and in the age of technology, isn’t good enough. The seating look like they have had better days, torn, some had a funny smell. BA get your act together and improve the services you offer for premium ticket holders, who are paying for it.

Located at the third level, 2 escalator up to the business lounge, a level up from the Concorde first class lounge. Quite a challenge for looking a resting spot, a very busy and packed lounge. However, the food and snacks provided were absolutely delightful. The shower service located on the second floor, right next to the Concorde first class lounge. The shower reception and the cleaning service was very friendly and kind. Condition of shower room were cleaned and neat.

This lounge has got busier and busier over the years.Unfortunately, the facilities provided aren’t quite aligned with the number of guests using this lounge. The food is good and the choice is suitable for people with varying tastes and needs. The seating availability is lacking. Guests struggle to find seats together, especially families. The number of toilets hasn’t changed !! The queues for the loos are rather long and unpleasant. The staff don’t seem happy. Long faces. Maybe they’re unhappy in their jobs, who knows…In my opinion, the standard, resources and quality could do with a brush up.And, when flying BA I’m highly likely to use this lounge again as this is what’s available.
