Ammas Fare
The best fish, plantain and yam in South East London is served at this restaurant. There's abit of waiting for it but it's worth the wait. Service is good, the waiters are lovely. The owner is kind and welcoming.

The food itself tastes lovely and fresh but the customer service is TRASH. This has been running for years, how about you marinate your fish and start cooking before opening since it’s the most popular dish ? The ladies’ bathroom is DISGUSTING and unkempt. There was vomit and clogged sinks, tissue all over the floor and very unclean. Upon arrival, the tables and seats are sticky and not sanitised properly. Friends of the owners can show up at any time and get served before others who are waiting for 2+ hours. It’s common sense to monitor who is coming in and serve them drinks while they wait, but you have to get up and chase servers around just to get drinks, then call them back to open the bottles, then probably call back again to get straws/cups. I could single handedly cook food for 50 people faster with one oven. Sort it out

Their food is great, If you can wait 5 hours for them to prepare it. 5 hours backlog of orders from 2pm they said. It almost feels like they believe they are doing the customer a favour. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.Then you discover it's family and friends thing. They serve you when you have connections to the place.

Poor quality of food, poor service, poor communication. First visit I waiting for a whole hour for food and another 30 minutes for takeaway even though it was ordered upon arrival.Second visited I waited 2 hours for the food to come out and ended up walking away after waiting 20 minutes for the manager who never showed up.Terrible bathroom smell and condition and the place looks like funeral home.

Waited 3 hours for food. It was ridiculous. I’ve never been been so angry in my life. The bathroom needs an upgrade. The place itself needs an upgrade. I wish there was a zero star option.

One of the worst traumatic experiences of my entire lifeThe fish took over 2hrs to arrive ..not a joke! ..however if you have notes to tip the guy at the till you can jump from 100 to 1 in 0.2 secsWhen the fish arrived after a few words nearly 3hrs later I didn't bother to check..oh my goodness extreme ! One was mammoth the other the size of a small seabass.With an hours drive I couldn'tEven be bothered to callThe fish was basic ..raw pepper salsa and v oily ShittoWith raw sweet pepper's which makes the pictures posted look appealing .I cook myself and nooooooo this was overpriced at over 50 pounds ..appalling service and rouge customer service...Never ever again....

This place is a joke. They dont have a set price for food. You order and they tell it’ll cost between £20-£35 . They’ll decide the price when they give you the food. They’re just making up prices.They tell you to come in 2 hours to collect your food, you get there and they’ve only just started cooking it. Every time I’ve gone to collect food there has been an angry customer shouting at them. They’re incompetent and have no system. They just make it up as they go. How do you run a business like that? Terrible, terrible business. Sort it out.

Food was good but the wait time for the fish was remarkably long. Good thing the wine isnt too expensive, helped with the long wait. Nice atmosphere.I think they need more staff though.

If I could give 0stars i would.Food is good but never got a worst service than this both eat in and to take out.If u wanna eat at this place make sure u have a full stomach before going there because the wait is 3hours+.If u want to take away the wait is never what ur told on the phone but more.Terrible experience stay away.
