Paul and the team took me from Basic Open Water to Dive Master. Training was very friendly and inclusive, personalised to the individuals needs. Paul has a lot of equipment which can be loaned / hired whilst continuing your training, which means you don’t have to start buying kit until you are sure you want to continue your diving adventure.I actually did my Basic Open Water whilst on holiday and had to have most of my techniques and skills re taught before heading to my first Advanced Open Water Dives. Would recommend to anyone to do the course at Durham City Scuba before going on holiday, I found the training to be far superior and not rushed!Dives regularly take place at a local lake, an old quarry (diving playground complete with sunken planes and Thunderbird 4), and in the North Sea, which can have very testing conditions. This preparation means you can relax when on holiday in the warm clear waters. Paul also runs trips further a field, for those feeling more adventurous.All together a fantastic club, with a good and friendly social side!

I took the openwater license in October with DCS, and planning all the other courses with them as well!Professional and friendly staff, supportive during difficulties and patient enough for me to overcome the language barrier" in such a new environment. Scuba diving is a fantastic sport for everyone loving water and new experiences

Durham City Scuba are awesome I have done two courses with them. They are very professional and helpful the staff especially Paul Smith made me feel relaxed and safe at all times. I intend to do more courses in the future. I highly recommend them.

After a few years break in Diving, my 11 year old daughter decided she would like to give diving a try. After a fabulous try dive with Durham City Scuba we decided she would do the Open Water Course and I would refresh my skills before moving on to Advanced. With excellent tuition and a friendly atmosphere, my nervous 11 year old managed to successfully complete her course and now loves her new found sport, so much so she's decided to complete her Advanced and Rescue qualification - testament to Paul and the brilliant DCS teams support & encouragement.

I learnt to dive with Durham City Scuba 4 years ago. I found the staff knowledgeable approachable and proficient. All training is focused and fun, without compromising on safety. I have progressed, with support at all times from the team, from an open water diver to Tec50. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Durham city Scuba.

Have completed numerous courses with Durham City Scuba both Recreational and Technical, the instructors are always professional, friendly and adjust the learning to your needs.I would recommend them to anyone thinking of starting diving or improving their skills with other courses.

I learnt to dive with Durham City Scuba just this year. They are a great bunch of friendly people with a great deal of experience which they are more than willing to share. They teach at your pace and there is no rushing you. Keep up the good work guys I would highly recommend this team if you a looking to take up Scuba Diving

Looks promising but then when I tried to call and left a voice message/text message to hopefully get a try dive for myself and my daughter, I didn't get any reply. The site seems to be offering weekly sessions. Just frustrating really.

I can’t recommend these guys enough! I’m doing my open water course at the moment and I’m really enjoying the whole experience. I was super nervous to begin with, but my instructor Ricky was brilliant, really patient, supportive and encouraging. These guys are definitely the best. Big thank you to Ricky, Paul and the team!
