Average experience.The manual car they provided was good and functioned well for our purposes. We preffered automatic but it was too pricey even for Sunderland costs. Unfortunately we weren't happy with the fact that there are no arrangements to return the car on a weekend! What if I was in Sunderland from Friday-Sunday and needed the car for only 2 days before going back to my home city!?This is exactly what happened to us this weekend - we needed the car from Friday-Sunday and were happy to return the car on Sunday but because Enterprise isn't open on Sundays, we have had to pay for an extra day to hire and keep the car on the Monday. In addition to this, we don't live in Sunderland and had to go back to London on Sunday evening. We tried to park the car at Enterprise the Sunday evening and a relative would have returned the keys on the Monday so that only the person who hired the car would have driven it but unfortunately the barriers were closed and we weren't able to drop the car off there. Thankfully we have relatives in Sunderland who were happy to return the car for us but Enterprise charged an additional £15.60 for additional drivers other than the person hiring the car. If there were options to return the car on a weekend, we wouldn't need to hire the car for an additional day nor pay an additional charge for other drivers!Please consider people visiting Sunderland for staycations and only staying the weekends! Maybe have a drop off point where people can leave the car and have a key safe to drop the car keys off?! It can be quite difficult if visitors have no relatives in Sunderland and need to take the train back on Sunday evening!

As a loyal customer, I was eager to help my ex-forces brother move into his forever home. Unfortunately, this plan was thwarted due to an unexpected and unexplained system check failure.Upon arriving in Sunderland from London, I was met with disappointment when the staff informed me that their system had flagged an issue with my booking. Despite my inquiries, they were unable to provide a concrete reason for the failure. Their response of a million reasons" felt vague and unsatisfactory.What added to my frustration was the offer to override the system block for a hefty fee of £500. It seemed like an unnecessary and unfair money-grabbing tactic. As a customer who had travelled a considerable distance and incurred expenses to fulfil my commitment

The staff and service at the North Bridge St branch was absolutely fantastic. They made the extra effort to find us an SUV that would fit our family better, and brought it over the next to day swap it out with what we initially picked up. Even during pickup, they drove over an alternative SUV for us to take a look.

I'd rented car from Enterprise Sunderland twice and one was recently in July 2023, great customer service and the collection and return was hassle free. Vehicle is well cleaned and inspected before hand over and was checked together with one of their intent staff upon return, service was good and with big smile always.Will definitely go back to Enterprise for my rental!
