I came here with my mother for her UC appointment, but Collin, who is usually friendly and polite, wasn't available, so we had an appointment with Emma instead. Throughout the appointment, Emma was rude towards my mother and myself, and when we requested for our next appointment to be over the phone rather than in person, she asked for a reason why in a rude attitude. She then told my mother to find work in a rude manner and we told her she is and she also gave attitude when my mother told her she would be starting an ESOL Course soon and she rudely saidwell it hasnt started

Whilst I was on uc , despite my education and qualifications they expected, almost forced me to take up cleaning jobs !! All the time!!! Do you really think thar I will be putting on cleaners uniform and will be moping floors!?! Ha, WRONG! !!! IAfter few months I just gave up and closed my claim! Dear job centre, do you really think that I will lower myself this low and will clean after other people??My advice is don't apply for UC, unless you are prepared to take any $hit jobs they will force you into!

Mrs. Agent Laura is a person who is manipulative, controls the conversation so that the client cannot defend himself, attacks instead of helping, no empathy, lack of professionalism, etc.Mrs agent is guided by some prejudice against foreigners, the conversation resembles a criminal interrogation at the police station.I was forced to use an interpreter to understand the requirements straight from the “psychology of marketing and business”.I even prepared a business plan to satisfies Mrs agent - unfortunately plan was rejected.I asked to contact the manager to file a complaint - no one calls till day.Unbelievable that this is how people can be treated in a public office whose idea is to help society. The worst experience - I didn't want to run a company that had a chance for development. Someone should verify the actions of this Mrs agent because it's possible that there may be more like me and people give up their own business dreams.

The entrance looks grim I have to say, like some kind of castle dungeon you have to access through a moat bridge. Inside it’s a completely different story. Huge modern office space with nice furniture and comfortable sofas for waiting. The officer who looked at my UC claim was the friendliest and most helpful man and completely understood my circumstances, which he reflected back to me. Good listening skills and extremely clear information. Positive attitude. In just fifteen minutes I had all the information I needed and a clear plan of action.

I applied for aid at the job centre whilst homeless. I had a fantastic man helping me. Shortly after coming back for a meeting they had indicated that they had no record of no meetings. They also wouldn’t give me any information regarding contacting my previous handler. I have been desperately looking for work, but have been unable to (70 applications later). I asked them if they could assist with putting me in contact with jobs or agencies that can help me find work. i was laughed at and told it’s not their problem and that they only provide universal credit. What is the point of the job centre if it’s simply to provide abuse and mismanagement

My work coach had me diligently update my online journal to log my work search progress. However he was late to every single appointment and had clearly never checked my online journal beforehand, asking obvious questions he could have found out just by looking on my profile. Incapable little gremlin man

I've been in receipt of universal credit from them for a couple years now. Overall the staff have been beyond helpful. When I was first made homeless as a youth, with almost no documentation, they assisted in connecting me with a credit union account and they walked me through setting up my benefits. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be alive where I am today. The staff are beyond polite typically, though there has been a few occasions in which I have personally witnessed staff being ignorant towards autistic individuals. One young man was clearly struggling to cope with his expected work searches and was also clearly close to melting down due to sensory overload. He was told to man up and get on with it as 'everyone has to do it'. Truly awful and I feel for that young man wherever they might be now.As for myself, I've had no issues massively and my physical disabilities have been considered well by the staff. They've been able to arrange meetings by phone when needed.I have, however, had recent issues with staff not communicating internally. I've had to reiterate multiple times that I am in receipt of disability and that I am physically disabled and can't leave my home most days. They keep booking appointments for in-person meetings and then marking them as missed, so I have to keep contesting them via my journal and remind them I literally cannot leave my house. It's also a nightmare in terms of managing income and submitting paperwork, and the actual job coaches and expectations are Draconian at best nowadays, but that is due to the oppressive malice of the governmental institutions that design and enforce these routines.Overall a mixed but positive experience, just be expected to jump through a lot of loops.

As an employer looking for staff I was treated well by staff who arranged interviews, let me use a room and ensured that I had everything I need.Yes the surroundings are dated and it is a dull place, as it is below ground on 3 sides, but it's not something that should be held against the staff who work hard and have strict rules that they have to adhere to.
