I'm so thrilled I signed up for the evening classes. I learn loads and came out with quite a number of varied pots, bowls, cups, an incense stick and a jug! Berni creates a relaxed and down to earth environment, offering her teaching and knowledge to get you started each week. She also gives plenty of space, encouraging you to play and get to know the clay, whilst also being on hand for guidance, tips and tricks, to overcome blips and enhance your creations. I've really valued her approach, it makes for a great creative but also therapeutic activity - really great value for money. I just finished the glazing workshop and I can't wait to see how my creations turn out! Highly recommend!!

Would highly recommend the 4 hour pottery taster, followed a Sunday glazing workshop! I attended the taster with a friend and was a little apprehensive what we would be doing for 4 hours but I can honestly say it felt like you needed more time!! Berni’s has a fabulous ability to teach you what you need to know, in really friendly and relaxed atmosphere.I then came back with my 7 year old daughter for the glazing workshop . Oh wow! What a wonderful time we BOTH had and we now have some very special pieces in our kitchen cupboard!Thank you Berni so much. X

I did an 8 week course here with a friend and it wasn’t really a course as there was no structure. There was no system as to where to put things either so it was a case of ‘look for your pots they could be anywhere’. I had to chase Berni 3 times weeks after the course finished before she responded and said when we could collect our pots. She had lost several of them so I said don’t worry about it. She then made a snarky remark about how I need to pay for the materials for the lost pots whether I collect them or not. I said ok I’ll come and get them then when you find them and I’ll pay you. I never heard from Berni again. The pots you make arnt included in the course price which wasn’t advertised at booking.

Bernie's a wonderful teacher - gentle and unassuming, and so generous in her sharing of knowledge. She creates an environment which is relaxed and creative, and her workshops are hugely enjoyable. We were a class of beginners and improvers and everyone of us made some really beautiful pieces.

A great experience! For context, I went to a four hour taster and then a subsequent glazing session.Berni was very patient and an effective teacher, even for a complete beginner like me. The whole session has a cosy and casual vibe and you're given as much help and attention as you need. I was nervous going in but it was a lovely relaxing way to spend an afternoon and would recommend highly to anyone!

I have done two 7-week pottery courses with Berni and had the best time. The courses are very complete, from hand building with many techniques to using the potter's wheel as well as a glazing session. Berni as a teacher is fantastic, the group is small so you have lots of individual attention and feedback, she's very patient and encouraging and always helps you come up with ideas of what you want to make. I had never done pottery before and I learned loads.On top of that all her sessions are very affordable, and you can fire and keep whatever pieces you have made.I highly recommend her classes, I would be joining the course again if I wasn't moving!

We had a brilliant Friday evening here! Berni is a friendly, welcoming teacher and was really enthusiastic about even the most “unique” of our creations. The two hours flew by. I can’t wait to pick up our masterpieces after being fired and glazed in a few weeks.

Went for a hen do, came away with a new skill I'd like to improve on, hands down an absolutely excellent time. I'd recommend this for any skill level, any age level, anyone who wants to have a bit of fun while being taught by a sensitive teacher who gives as much instruction as you want, or as little, but always encouraging of each and every person. Personally, I enjoyed it so much I'd like to learn more and I really enjoyed Berni's humour...

My husband and I have had two brilliant sessions here; throwing pots and a few weeks later glazing them. Berni is patient, explains well, encouraging, brings out our creativity and a lovely person to be with. Plus the workshops are such fun.We are both looking forward to seeing our works of art soon

Really enjoyed the last 8 weeks of starting to learn about pottery with Berni. She’s a wonderful teacher, always encouraging, really helpful & able to make you feel at ease with & proud of your work. She manages to teach different levels & abilities at the same time with everyone feeling looked after. Highly recommended- I’ve signed up for more!
