it’s definitely the go-to bar for me in Newcastle, and in my opinion the best LGBT venue there. Bar service can be a little slow but they win me back over with the music.

I've seen a few straight girls going into the gentlemen's toilet. That's unacceptable. I'm not feeling safe there anymore. I can't believe that's not a controlled area.

Disgusting and quite frankly discriminating behaviour from security on door. Came with a group of 9 of my mates for a birthday night out. One of my mates has epilepsy, and due to this can’t apply for a provisional drivers license. As he presented his citizen card, a legal form of identification issued by the government, he was told that they did not accept it as a form of ID and to move on- why? He even went as far as to prove his age by scanning the QR code on the back of his card which brought up the website detailing his photo, name and date of birth. Rustys is disgraceful and in my eyes are also discriminatory against people with disabilities. As a result we will not be returning and would advise anyone else against visiting. Serious changes need to be made to the security system of this bar.

Rusty's is the place to go if you're gay and on a night out in Newcastle. It's a great bar with a wide selection of drinks and friendly regulars and staff. Also, it has a stage for everyone to get up on!

Good for music and dancing however the overbearing doormen have an uneasy control here? I was barred for nothing? Next night I went to an adjacent bar near the Yard and ordered a half which I put on table so as to ask disc jockey something ( I was totally sober) as I turned I noticed my drink gone so asked the rotunda barman where's my drink .He said ' I threw it down sink ?'I said okay why, and he said he doesn't have to tell me?So I politely asked for refund by pointing at hand as music so loud it was illegal!?Then a bouncer / doorman from rushtys bar entered and started to annoy me so I went to other bars but he followed me and grabbed me from the door of the Yard and he hurt my cancer scar and punched me covertly in my kidneys and I have stage 111 kidney disease. He and the rotunda manager from the Bank bar continued to heckle me whilst I had a smoke outside the shop where the owner from EritreaI then went away from those sad abusive men, one a doorman at rushtys. This pubs toilets are not fit to use and are unsafe with women coming in whilst your using the toilet ?The floors and under each table are engrained with dirt, but yes it's good for a wild night but I wouldn't let my daughter or son go to this establishment or should I say scruffy dive !!

Music was good and had a nice atmosphere but bar service was incredibly slow, spent most of the night queuing for drinks and was buying two at a time. Bouncers didn't seem to mind insanely drunk straight men annoying everyone in the smoking area and falling around the place. There was someone asleep on a bench outside and no one even noticed.

Would give less than 1 star if i could. The bouncers are awful and just grab people and throw them out for absolutely no reason. Disgusting.

We came last night and had an issue with a man in there and the bouncers were straight on it and listened to everything we had to say so a massive thank you to them for helping us out

My favourite club in Newcastles LGBTQ+ party scene. I love the guest Drag DJs, they always offer an amazing selection of music. The atmosphere is amazing, the people you meet here are some of the friendliest in the North east. Having a Bar on each floor of the club helps regulate crowds on busy weekends, the layout is creative allowing brilliant flow through the whole venue, it is very rare you'll feel overly cramped. The bar staff are incredible, they handle the weekend rush very well while remaining friendly. The bouncers are lovely and have always helped whenever me or any of my friends have had problems. The drinks are some of the cheapest compared to other clubs. I'm here alot, and cannot reccomend enough.

The bouncer pushed me away for no reason! I am a 5 foot 5 ,19 yr old woman and a whole grown male bouncer grabbed me by my jacket and pulled me away from the club for no apparent reason! Very rude and not kind staff.
