Even if you're stuck and hungry, go elsewhereStopped here for food as passing by, what wanted wasn't available so I had cottage pie and chips and my wife had sausage in batter and chips.Upside was it has dog friendly tables outside. Downside is very expensive £15 for the above with a coffee. Chips were greasy and far too large portions, cottage pie was reheated and cold in the middle possibly a microwave job.I don't get places like these, I could have bought a cottage pie at the premier and microwaved it. All they have to do is prepare something of decent quality for its customers to enjoy but short cuts and high prices come first. If I wasn't so hungry it would have gone in the bin.

Friendly staff and freshly cooked food. One way system in place and encouraged to wait outside until food was ready (and then brought out). Chips were really tasty. Not cheap but for a small town you'd expect a little mark up on price.I'd recommend and I'd return.

This business is now called 'Teifi Chips'. I have been a number of times over the past year for takeaway fish&chips, and each time I was disappointed with a miserable bit of dried up tailend fish. Today, I had a sitdown meal, ordered the 'large' cod option, and 'low and behold' another tailend, dried up, skinny piece of fish appeared, with a big hole under the batter! The chips were pretty poor too. With peas, bread&butter and tea, the bill was £15.25. way too much for such poor fare. I've given them enough chances now, I will never go there again.

Excellent fish and chip cafe and takeaway. The quality of the food is excellent, service is friendly and welcoming and it has a wide choice on the menu. Highly recommended

I visited this establishment recently as it was getting late and I hadn’t eaten after a long round of Golf so I chose the Central Cafe (one out of two fish & chip shops in Newcastle Emlyn) to go to. The exterior had nicely been redone since I last visited and the layout inside was very straightforward and COVID 19 secure. The menu has a good variety of options and the food was ready very quickly so I did not need to wait around long. My only fault with this place was the quality of food. The chips seemed very soggy and tasteless and the scampi was overcooked and very hard. This might just have been because it was getting late but I have heard from locals that it is not as good as the other chippy in Emlyn. Overall it is a nice place but the quality of food is not up to scratch and would be more inclined to try the other next time!

It was a very average chippy. I caught them just as they were shutting, so the variety of food was quite poor. My chicken couldn’t have been harder even if it was carrying a flicknife, and the chips were pretty brown. Not great for £15 tbh. I’ll try them again, but really only down to the lack of local competition!

After a drive of 200+ miles to deliver a car to a lady in the town, we called into the cafe/ chip shop for a portion of chips for lunch, what can we say FANTASTIC , the staff were very friendly and quick, but the food unbelievable chips, so much so after sitting outside and eating them I felt I had to go back in and let the staff know what we felt, I TOLD THE YOUNG GIRL WHO SERVED US THAT THE CHIPS WERE THE BEST I HAD EVER HAD, IF I LIVED IN THE TOWN I WOULD BE A REGULAR WITHOUT A DOUBT, CRISPY OUTER , FLUFFY INNER, WELL DONE TO THE OWNER AND STAFF, DONT CHANGE WHAT YOU DO.....SPOT ON GUYS 11/10

We stopped off on our journey and had battered sausage, chips and curry sauce. Best sausage I have ever had from a chippie, crispy batter and decent sausage. The chips were also crispy with fluffy centres. Delicious. I wish I lived in Newcastle Emlyn!
