There are only a few places in my life that has completely taken me by surprise, and Alchemilla is one of the them. From the warm and welcoming staff, the amazing menu, to the wines, I can't thank them enough for putting together a memory that my husband and I will have for years. If you can afford it, do it. The restaurant is clean and the service is above and beyond, each willing to tell history and stories. Even asked the staff to sign my copy of the menu. Absolutely an amazing experience. Hopefully one day we can return!

We enjoyed a 7 course taster menu with wine pairings. One word would be spectacular. An intimate environment, attentive service and the food was interesting and perfectly executed. It challenges your pallet in a positive way.As said earlier, spectacular.

Third time here and it is easily one of the best restaurants in the whole midlands. Alex is a genius in the kitchen, with inspiration from Japanese flavours and Uber modern cooking techniques and beautiful plates, the whole experience is worthy of the star, but beyond that, it’s a food experience that if it was in London, it would be easily £250 per head. So at £90 for 5 courses (which is easily 11-12 servings) I actually think it’s also fantastic value for some of the best food in the country.

It was a fantastic meal in wonderful surroundings. Each of the 10 courses of the taster menu came with a different and unique flavour with its own focus on what the star of that dish was. The service was great, striking the balance perfectly between professionalism and warmth whilst still not being afraid to give a little of their own personalities. Our visit was all that we hoped it would be. We had a fantastic few hours here and couldn't recommend Alchemilla enough.Thank you to all who made our night one to remember.

This place doesn't need a fat secondary school cookery teacher to tell it how good it is, but regardless I'm doing it anyway.Booked in for the eight course taster with matching wine EVERYTHING was tremendous. The sourdough from an 11 year old starter, the three unexpected starting canapés, that awesome smoked scallop soup and then the advertised dishes. The scallop with the English sparkling wine was superb. The Armenian red with the pigeon was near perfection.Loved the move away from wine at the end as desserts came with a sake, then a Madeira. Bloody incredible.Service was top notch, with a sommelier that my dining partner fell in love with. Spectacular...

Started very strong. Incredible food. But then slowly the items became less punchy. Tried too hard and lacked what the formers held. But the first few dishes, including the venison were phenomenal. Didn’t like the seaweed dishes overly. The lobster was incredible. Will edit this review shortly.Amazing setting. Great staff. Amazing host.Waiting was ever slightly slow.Great alcohol menu.Ten course is a must. I would recommend wine pairing but would probably be too much for ten courses.Overall very expensive for a one star. Almost the same price as a london 2 or 3. Wouldn’t compare exactly to a one star further north.

LunchOne of Nottingham's finest restaurants. There's a reason why this restaurant has a Michelin star. They have a seasonal changing menu. All served in a beautiful Victorian carriage house with red brick vaulted arches. We had their 5 course menu £95.Now, available every service. Some restaurants would class it as 11 courses with all the snacks and bread. We're not going to list what we had.Just let the pics do the talking. We love Alex Bond, and his team are amazing. The food and service were spot on as usual.#finedining

It is a chic little cozy restaurant wrongly tucked away in an uninteresting neighbourhood.By public transport, I dropped off at their nearest bus stop and the way going there was an unpleasant residential walkway so booking a taxi going back was mandatory.I took the liberty of doing the wine pairing for the 10-course tasting menu but it was a hit-or-miss for me when complimenting the dishes. I ended up cutting down on the number of drinks as it was only making me full rather than enjoy the entire menu, albeit, rather tipsy. None of the dishes really stood out other than the oven-fresh bread and artisan butter. One particular dessert with rhubarb gave me a mild, but bearable, burning sensation on my tongue. Of course nothing happened to me, but it was rather concerning despite that I did try to finish the dessert. I vaguely remember any petit fours at the end of the course.I appreciate the intimacy of the seating plan, and ensuring I arrive early gave me the opportunity to soak in the brick-layering architecture to myself for a couple of minutes. The ambience has a minimalist approach with warm, cozy lighting and a touch of greenery to elevate the mood. Never chanced a glimpse of their chef, a simple Michelin gesture unfortunately missed.
