Moorfield Farm Barn

Just back (reluctantly) from a weekend here. Even in the rain, we loved every second. Enough facilities to feel civilised, wild enough to breathe. Bliss.

Very disappointed think twice before booking…. ! Owner didn’t even come out to greet us or show us where anything was but wanted money upfront! grass had been cut but not collected, it rained hard and she wouldn’t entertain putting us on hard standing which was empty even after leaving the site. Skidded over the grass and was worried we would sink as slope too much! Chased us for money on first night even though we left all our equipment in field after having lunch at pub! Chased our friends for money when they left it in their marked post box! Shocking host!Host never appeared all weekend!

What a lovely peaceful campsite. Owner texted me before we went with gate code and instructions where to pitch. No problems with that - it is a sloping site so blocks are needed! Site rules on display. Not long after we arrived the owner came, gave us lots of local info re pubs, places to visit and footpaths. Two dog exercise fields too. I'm sure we will be back.

Excellent site with very friendly owners. Always around for a chat.We did need some levelling blocks but it was due to the part of the field we were in.Other pitches seemed OK.Great tea room (lovely food) and pub nearby.Will definitely return.

Lovely CL in a beautiful quiet location.The site is immaculately kept and the hosts are very helpful and welcoming.There are two great pubs that we use nearby,the carpenters arms at dale abbeyand the Stanhope arms at Stanton by dale,both of which are within walking distance.Also nearby is the excellent cowshed cafe which we can highly recommend.A brilliant site!

What a lovely,spacious site.Lovely, friendly owners, Lesley and Aidie.It has two enclosed dog friendly fields which have been a Godsend for us while dogsitting.The countryside is lovely and there are several walks from the site.

Only found this site this year, only wish we had found it years sooner.It is our favourite go to site, so peaceful and relaxing, so much so that we usually arrive on a Thursday evening and the wife commutes to work on the Friday! I have to stop and look after the caravan with our dog - someone has to do itThe site owners Lesley and Adrian are extremely friendly and always go that extra mile for you, so obliging.If we had to score the site, then it's full marks 10 out of 10.
