National Vehicle Inspections

For many years, Malcolm, at National Vehicle Inspections, has inspected cars prior to purchase for me and my family. He has always been very thorough, efficient and trustworthy, and has kept us completely informed of his findings all through the inspection process, so that we have always known exactly what we would be getting, should we go ahead and purchase the car. We have never been let down by Malcolm, and as long as he is available to carry out inspections, he would be our first choice.

Malcolm did a really thorough job inspecting the motorhome that we were thinking of purchasing, but could not view ourselves. He gave us a verbal report and then sent a myriad of photographs showing the interior, engine and exterior of the vehicle.

Holiday Rambler 43’ American Motorhome NightmareI was left devastated, after paying £46000 for a vehicle, which, after the long drive home, I knew was not right. I called NVI and they came next day, went over the vehicle and found serious faults. Malcolm made me feel better because he said the vehicle should not be on the road, even though it had passed an MOT, just before the purchase. With Malcolms expert report, I’m able to get both the DVSA, and Trading Standards involved. His report will also be used in any future litigation that may arise. Although it is early days, this company has brought me some great peace of mind, and alerted me to many more problems with the vehicle, that were not apparent. ‘ If you are thinking about inspecting a vehicle, then have it done prior to buying it, as it’s far less hassle. I had a very poor experience purchasing an Audi approved vehicle. The car was delivered sounding bad with a excruciating noise at the drivers side. Audi had it for weeks but couldn't identify the issue. Eventually they said it was just the way this car was.(rubbish). I happened across Malcolm Cronin who runs this company. He was instantly helpful and talked me through process and options. He offered to attend Audi and look at vehicle which he did. He immediately confirmed that the vehicle had a problem and told Audi potential causes. However I had heard enough from them by then and I returned vehicle for full refund. I was very appreciative of the assistance provided.

I called Malcolm and asked him to inspect a 2014 Mercedes E220 coupe ( with 23000 miles on the clock) that I was purchasing from a dealer in the UK ( I am based in Ireland, couldn't view the car hence I got Malcolm to inspect it for me). His cost was 235.00 GBP. He went to the dealership on the 27th of September 2016, sent me lots of photos the day he inspected the car and I had a phone conversation later that day after receiving the pictures. He told me that mechanically the car was fine ( and said he would send me on the detailed inspection report as per his website). Based on his verbal approval of the car I went ahead and bought the car but asked him to send me on his report as soon as possible.When I picked the car up from the transport company in Ireland ( 9th October 2016) and turned on the engine I immediately got a warning signal coolant level low". I brought it straight to my mechanic and he told me there is a coolant leak. After showing me the leakage signs ( he also told me that the leak has been there for some time based on the green coolant stains in the engine) he now has to investigate more thoroughly to see what the cause is. I have tried contacting Malcolm several times by phone and email over the past couple of days and he has not returned any of my calls or emails. Besides the coolant fault that he may have missed he still has not sent me his inspection report even though it has been over two weeks since he inspected the vehicle . In all my conversations with Malcolm he seemed like a very genuine and professional person but unfortunately it appears that I was wrong. I'm very disappointed and also I'm in the process of buying more cars in the UK and was sure I had a decent

Bought an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio that had a fault with it on driving home from the dealers. Decided to reject the vehicle and asked Malcolm to come and do a report for me to help aid my rejection of the vehicle. Malcolm was booked in a few days later and sure enough experienced the fault for himself . Received the report a week later which was very well written, to the point stating the facts. An absolute Gent to deal with and I am very very glad I decided to ask Malcolm to inspect the vehicle. Top service from a guy who cares in what he does.
