Charlwood Aquatics

Went to Charlwood Aquatics today and was warmly welcomed by a lovely young lady. Gave us lots of information of the fish and showed my little girl where all the big Koi was. Purchased 8 Koi today, amazing quality and will 100% purchase all my fish here again.

Firstly I wasn't sure if I was at the right place, it's as though you're driving on someone's driveway. Once there I was really disappointed with the conditions of the tanks, shop and fish health.I found at least 6 tanks with dead or dying fish, massively overstocked in others. In the koi ponds I saw many fish that looked in poor health with lesions on skin etc and very dirty water.I have kept all kinds of fish my whole life and I left with tears in my eyes. The staff were very nonchalant and only offered us help when they were told to by a manager/owner. I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend.

These are not my photos but from a fellow reefer.I have never visited this place but after seeing these photos I never intend to.Edit: In response to the owners comments, I have no problem with algae, algae is very beneficial although unsightly.My problem is not only do they look" dirty and uninviting

It feels a bit like a shack in the middle of nowhere but the fish aren't in bad conditions and their stock and pricing is really good. Worth checking out if you've never been before

Massive selection of quality aquarium and pond fish

The place is a bit tricky to find the turning but Ince there the guys there are mega helpful and the young guy with black hair is incredibly knowledgeable and is always really polite, I suggest any marine enthusiast visits here and looks at the great range of stock

I went there the other day and was mortified To find dead fish in nearly every tank and it was not just the 1 in a tank that was dead!! The tanks had nothing in for the fish i.e sand or plants! It’s dirty in the fish rooms and the floors are covered in water!! They had Betta’s in jars yes I said JARS!!! And we found 4 dead ones before I said it’s time to go! The poor fish in this shop! I had herd that it wasn’t good for it’s presentation of fish but I was not expecting to find the things I did!! I will never go near again and high stress to all to stay away!!

I been buy from Charlwood Aquatics for many years and the staff have always been nothing less than professional every aspect of my purchases. Maybe unlike some I actually have been to the site and I’ve never had any cause for concern regarding the standard that the fish are kept. This is not a stack them high sell them anything type of establishment. This is a place were the staff care about and to whome they sell there fish to. Keep up the good work.

There are dead fish in nearly every tank! Dead fish on the floor! Betta fish kept in jars and even live fish swimming around in the over leaked water in the pipes under the tanks. Would never buy from here unless you condone this kind of behaviour! discusting way to keep fish?
