Clematis Cottages

Orchard cottage is a gem! Richard and Kaye were the most fantastic hosts. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Met up with a friend here to catch up and hang out and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The Eco Barn was excellent, and Kaye and Richard were so super helpful and friendly. The cottages and grounds are a wonderful place to relax, and both Stamford and Rutland Water are super easy to get to from here. The honey, jams, chutneys and tomatoes are also brill!

Richard and Kaye were very welcoming hosts. Kaye provided a lot of information about the facilities and accommodation, and upon arrival, Richard very kindly invited us to join a talk he was doing on his bees. The talk/tour was really interesting and we learned a lot about how bee colonies work, something that was an added bonus and we really didn’t expect it.The accommodation was perfect for the 7 of us - one of the bedrooms is an annex (on the side of the main house) - perfectly equipped with its own bathroom and little fridge and tea/coffee area.The grounds around the house are impressive! They have a little pond and an area where to try golf - not perhaps for regular players but good fun if you don’t play golf. They also have table tennis available which we made a really good use of. Plenty of space outside to enjoy a bbq in the sun or if it’s windy, sit under the cover.Thank you again for everything! It’s a perfect escape in a tranquil countryside!

Absolutely brilliant cottage with the most wonderful hosts. Super family friendly and they make the most delicious honey!

We stayed at in the 2 bedroom Clematis Cottage for a week in April 2022. From the time we booked, Richard and Kaye were excellent and responded to any questions we had prior to arriving.We were able to get groceries delivered for our arrival day as we were arriving at the property late in the evening.The cottage was perfect for our trip and was very clean. There is lots of space and the kitchen is well stocked to cook meals at home. The location was excellent and allowed us some relaxation and we were able to host friends and family for a BBQ. We loved spending time around the lake and sitting out in the sunshine. The proximity to Stamford is great and the peaceful location is amazing.The highlight was Richard taking the time to show my 13 year old son and I the beehives. We learned so much about the bees and really enjoyed the experience of seeing the hive. Later in the day, Richard brought us some honey fresh from the hive which was incredible to taste.We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this location and will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit family in England.Richard and Kaye have created a brilliant location and are excellent hosts. Thank you for helping making our trip back to UK full of good memories.

We stayed in the oak barn last summer and had the most perfect family holiday. The children kept themselves entertained for hours playing table tennis and getting lots of fresh air in the great outdoors! We ordered a vegetable box for our arrival and was so impressed we took another one home with us aswell as some delicious homemade chutneys and honey too. I particularly enjoyed doing my daily workouts by the side of the lake with such beautiful scenery, it was just perfect! Would highly recommend and we will certainly be returning again soon!

Beautiful cottages surrounded by the countryside just a few miles north of Stamford. Onsite there is plenty of parking, facilities for barbeques, table tennis, golf among other things provided for guests to use. Richard and Kaye also have lovely honey to buy, and keep the property and surrounding gardens in a very good condition. This was our second visit and we are already talking about our next stay as a group.

We had an amazing stay at Clematis Cottages just before Xmas. The cottage was very clean and warm (the underfloor heating was sooo nice!). The cottage had all things we needed.Richard and Kaye were very nice and welcoming. Thanks for the gifts!They also have an EV charger on site, which is very rare in that area. Although it was not free to use (with a very reasonable price), it made our life so much easier.Their farm is so well-organised, even though there was not much going on in winter time. I could imagine it would be stunning in summer. Hope we can come back in summer.Overall, it was a superb holiday stay.

We had a lovely stay at Clematis Cottage - the cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and everything we could have wished for. The views were stunning and it felt so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect getaway for our family! Kaye and Richard were such hospitable hosts and communication before our stay was great too. Already planning our next trip!

We visited the cottages for a short break and stayed in Orchard Cottage. The first thing you notice is how quiet and peaceful the surroundings are.The cottage was a wonderful place to stay with superb modern facilities, bags of character and a private garden overlooking fields.Richard and Kaye were lovely hosts (top tip: ask Richard about his home-made honey, it is delicious).There are plenty of lovely villages and market towns nearby as well as Stamford and we would highly recommend a trip to Rutland Waters while you visit.All in all, a fantastic break and a perfect place to recharge your batteries. Highly recommend.
