Went for a birthday meal a compleat let down AGAIN, the grumpy old guy who was working (possibly the manager) has an attitude problem, also speaks to staff like dirt...food took forever to come out then items were missing and portions too small for the price we left hungry and the women's toilets were absolutely disgusting overflowing toilets with no toilet roll or handwash. Will not be going again as every time we've been it's been a let down.

Really disappointed with our meal. When we arrived we had to approach two staff deeply engrossed in gossip to ask where to sit. After waiting 20 minutes we finally managed to make eye contact enough to break their loud conversation and get our orders in. We ordered 4 tapas dishes and some wine. This arrived fairly quickly, although our bread was forgotten and we had to ask two different waiters before it came. The food was okay, but not special and not something I would pay for again. During our meal, we were distracted by 4 waiters jogging past, loudly gossiping with each other, shouting across the room. We asked for tap water, but after 10 minutes of watching the waitress chat with another staff member, we had to ask someone else. After being given the bill, they seemed to forget about us and again, we had to beckon over another staff member to ask about paying. This waiter then stumbled over to our table, almost knocking over a bottle of olive oil as he cleared, and then dropped the card machine on the floor. As he struggled to put it back together again, he couldn’t figure out the correct figure to split our bill in half, and we were convinced he had been drinking. By the end, we were pretty relieved to get out of there. The restaurant was not busy, so we couldn’t understand why everything had taken so long. It’s a shame as the building is a lovely old setting, and it could have been a really nice experience. Oh well.

Service was terribly slow. Staff seem to be indulging in other activities rather than serving their customers, in particular one staff member continually fell over stuff, dropped and smashed the card machine, made weird comments about our dress code and couldn't correctly halve our bill for payment...he actually seemed drunk. I reccomend the staff get some lessons in manners before they serve the public.

Food good. Service terrible. Its not cheap and I expect better. The waitress seemed out of her depth. I had to go find out what had happened to my bottle of wine after 45 minutes sat without a drink. When it was bought (plonked on the table) over it was lukewarm and I had to put ice in it. Apparently it had been hiding behind something else on the bar. Bread and oil etc finally arrived just after the main courses did once I asked where is it not before as normal. Staff stood around not doing much half the time. Was frightened to order anything else given the time everything was taking. The other two tables around me were experiencing problems too. I paid and left as I didn't think complaining would do anything apart from emphasize my husbands already less than perfect birthday meal. Had the service been better we would have had another bottle of wine and desserts.

They make delicious food with a wide selection of tapas and have a great indoor seating area.Their deals such as 'early bird' (discounts before 18:30) and Thursday night offers of free wine/sangria with 5 tapas are really worthwhile!

Absolute fantastic restaurant/Bar I came to the 1725 not too long ago and I have to say what a delight of a find it was.The tapas so delicious! I couldn't hold myself with the garlic chicken it was done to perfection.The atmosphere was lovely for a Sunday night but very busy. You could see the staff were working their socks off but nothing was too much for them. Water whilst the restaurant is packed? No problem they've got your back.Couldn't recommend more if i tried, should definitely give it a try.

Wasn't great food wasn't prepared properly the garlic came with our ciabatta starter and the bulbs inside were hard not cooked there was no way we could rub them on our ciabatta!!! Kitchen staff chatting to the bar maids looked scruffy and not the least bit concerned we weren't happy !! OK to drink there but wouldn't eat

Decent food in a nice looking place. Service a bit hectic- even on a Sunday evening, staff managed to make us wait 30 minutes for our reserved table, get our order wrong and set fire to a bread basket.

Great food! Set in an interesting building with a superb atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. Very good selection of drinks including some decent beers.

A good restaurant / bar with a nice beer selection and fantastic tapas menu. Great service from the moment you step in to when you leave.
