My first visit to Ulster university.Nice ambient for studying..

The Ulster University Magee campus is one of the four campuses of Ulster University. It is located in Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland and opened in 1865 as a Presbyterian Christian arts and theological college. Since 1953, it has had no religious affiliation and provides a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate academic degree programmes in disciplines ranging from business, law, social work, creative arts & technologies, cinematic arts, design, computer science and computer games to psychology and nursing.

At the start it was alright and then at the graduation ceremony after years of part-time lectures I experienced the underlying religious bigotry - from some quarters, this was callously set up hy the university authorities as the attack came from a stranger siting next to me whom I had never met before- at a university!!!!! - are we back in the bad old days? More ineffectual than intellectual. Also some lecturers were using their lecture to make, (republican!) political points directed specifically at me - were they educated in Saint columbs college under John Hume? ( going as high up as the head of the department, this would not be tolerated in a normal country) This university did not enhance my employment prospects or improve my character in any way, I am sorry I ever went there.

I had a registration exam there and what stuck in me was that the staff are really nice and very helpfu.

Nice hotel but work to improve on your WiFi connection. Very poor. Had to rely on my personal phone data.

Great University, i like the architectural designs of the building.. The location of OSCE is in Jones building.

Not so crowded, lovely buildings I loved the greenery, it has a couple of caffee shops within

I was a dedicated PhD student treated unfairly for 3 years! caused by CONFLICT OF INTEREST between supervisors!! Cor..ption, maladm.nistration and MORE! This place can be summed up as the biggest DU.P of a university that exists EVER! The Magee site (School of Computing, Engineering, and Intelligent Systems) I was a multi-talented student and had gone above and beyond during my research utilising my skilled background, to benefit my PhD. Anyone that knows me, knows I always like to stand out from the rest. I do this using my talent that I have acquired from a young age. I then proceeded to do this through school, college, undergraduate and at my PhD. However, this time I was met with serious conflict due to pure greed which resulted in me nearly taking my own life.Two supervisors that seen my capabilities tried to take huge advantage of this, where I tried to stop this professionally the 'confl.ct'. I basically said, “this is not normal” and told them “It was causing me stre.s”. I then started to ask other PhD students about their supervisory team. They had what I seeked, peace and dedication from their supervisors. They weren’t getting mixed into companies and pressurised to work on their company device. There supervisors were focused on them ONLY. These students and few Ulster staff (high ranked) couldn't believe the issues I was going through in the first 3 months caused by them. This all began when I asked questions to Ulster IP office about innovation during PhD. Main supervisor found out; ch..ky emails sent directly to me.These supervisors (Main supervisor 1 & 2) tried to use me for their spin of company (ActionSense), although I was awarded by DfE. I had colleagues of theirs walking up to my desk in week 3 that were not part of Ulster in any way, demanding me to do work on their useless data glove. Every little one of them couldn’t care that I was trying to protect my PhD findings and in turn UU's own IP.The higher ranked protect their own and couldn’t give a tatters about their PhD students or IP. I made an internal complaint and was advised by other staff members to do so. I was told by the innovation office, a form should have been signed to stop the confli.t rising. However, this office (innovation officer) was silenced, and this was never spoke of again to me. An internal investigation took place, after I had a meeting with Doctoral College (Head of Doctoral College) who laughed directly in my face when I stated all the facts (Conflict).The internal investigation was always going to protect their own (big corrupt clique). Not once was I apologised to. I had to limit my exceptional work from my thesis because these people all seeked what I seeked, only difference is they were thinking on money for their company. For 3 years now my mental health has taken a huge knock mentally and physically. Both my GP and mental practitioner advised me to step away from this for a while. I have had counselling for months and I will never be the same again. After I made a complaint, they covered everything up and never apologised for their behaviour.These individuals (supervisors) claim they should have their name on the tech.ical disclosure form (TDF) for the design of my data glove. They have never seen MY data glove to date, but they think they have r.ghts to it after the nonsense they caused me. After the complaint, the main supervisor was never professional again. Saying that, she was never professional from the start. Held my allocated funding and seriously damaged my mental and physical health. Do your PhD somewhere they aren't thinking on themselves. Unprofessional from the top to bottom. Corruption Exposed.

Beautiful uni and really kind people.. they genuinely care about everything. They make sure you are alright. Only negative is directions to various departments are a bit vague and the library people are of no help. They do try to help with a printed directions if u are there for an exam but finding them is task 1. The campus is at walking distance from the small town and roads are bit steep
