Scotch Meats Independent Fine Foods

Today I bought 3 dry aged T-bone steaks which have just been demolished. I cooked them on an incredibly high heat on the bbq for approx 2-3 minutes each side, let them rest for 10 minutes and they were out of this world. We universally agreed they were amongst the very best steaks we have ever eaten. Fantastic quality meat, great shop and great service. 10 out of 10.

What can I say about this lovely family owned butchers and deli but only great things. I travel a great distance to buy meat for dinner parties, special occasions and family gatherings as I can rely on the quality and know everything will taste great. We love the chicken and lamb kebabs for our barbeques with the portions of meat being a generous size and complete with large chunks of pepper and onion - yummy! The burgers and sausages are first rate with sausages sourced from prime breeds such as Gloucester Old Spot. If you like your full English you should try the bacon rashers which are generous in size and lovely flavour. Try the chicken Kiev's which are made in store as I believe are the scotch eggs. The deli is another gem selling great cheese with some unusual ones to tempt you even further. I can never come away from this shop without buying some lovely cakes and pastries, with apple strudel being one our favourites. If you like sausage rolls you have got to give those a try. You can even get a lovely cup of coffee on your way to or from work. The produce in this shop is of a really high standard and I have never had a bad purchase from this shop. I'm always telling friends and family to check out the store if passing as I know they will not be disappointed. The staff are very polite and welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you are given great service and will try to accommodate you if you have a special request for something that may not be in the shop. GREAT STUFF!!

Have used this butchers for years they have good quality fresh meat, you may have to pay a little extra but it's worth it.

I recently bought two cheese and onion quiche from Scotch Meats in Rosendale Road which were of shockingly bad quality: the quiche were utterly lacking in any cheese - it had absolutely NO cheese - and were completely tasteless with a horrible watery texture; simply shocking for a shop which is supposed to be offering good quality products. I also bought some Roquefort cheese which I have to say was of high quality and I wouldn't hesitate to buy their cheeses again. However, no way will I ever again contemplate purchasing another quiche or indeed any other baked product from them.

The meat products are lovely but the staff are very unfriendly, no niceties about them. What happened to 'hello' and a smile?, I think some of them have been there too long. I was there a couple of days ago and only four customers allowed at any one time but there must have been about ten staff bustling about which makes it very difficult to stay two metres away from anyone. If the meat wasn't so good I wouldn't shop there at all. I always feel slightly deflated when I leave the shop, not a nice experience each visit.

This shop truly feels like a God-send. In these very difficult times with lockdowns, queueing systems etc. the staff here has consistently been working very hard to continue serving the local community. They always do this with a smile and it is a joy to go in to the shop. I am very grateful that the shop has remained open during the widespread lockdown and that they continue to serve top-quality food at reasonable prices - always with a smile. Thank you!

I've been a customer here for many years and have always been delighted with the quality and choice of food for sale. However in these difficult times Scotch Meats has been a life saver. They've worked so hard to adapt to the new way of shopping and have continued to provide wonderful food and a safe shopping experience. Thank you!

You get what you pay for, and at Scotch Meats, that means absolutely top quality meat, but also some of the best bread in Dulwich, delicious cheeses and other fresh produce. I regularly buy my 2kg free range roasting chickens from here,and while they're about twice the supermarket price, they also have about twice as much meat on them, and taste so much better. This is a proper butcher, baker, and much more - give it a try!

Everything you could want from your local butchers and more. An icon of the area, Scotch Meats has provided the essentials to some of my favourite dishes I have cooked.For those of you who think the butchers is expensive compared to super markets, it is. But when you have a piece of bacon that doesn't shrink, doesn't have tonnes of water running out of it and tastes wonderful THEN you will know why you go to the butchers.The fruit and veg is a wonderful accompaniment and the other produce is wonderful to have. Cheese, homemade pies and more is on offer. I also heard they are planning on extending - fingers crossed!!

I have been purchasing my meat from scotch meats for over 15 years and their meat is second to none - real value for money versus other lifestyle" butchers that can be found in surrounding postcodes. The addition of the deli
